which is a piece that was separated from a greater ho is that the peace wants to return to become part of that hole right think of it think of it as the Jewish people we are part of each other when a Jew is away from other Jews feels lacking when a person is away from home you feel like you're missing something you have a desire to be home if you're part of a community and you're away from the community you you miss your community and he points out that there's a difference between how the whole feels towards the part and the way the part feel feels towards the whole right let's say you're part of a huge Community a huge Sho I don't know 350 families and you're not there so people might notice that you're not there but the the wanting of the community for you to be there is not the same as the wanting of you the peace who's away from the community to want to be back in the community and in the same way says the we are we are the things that are created by Hashem or a piece of God as it were so we have a desire we have an inborn instinct that we want to connect to Hashem we want to connect to something larger than ourselves we want to con connect to our soul wants to connect to that which it would is it's a part of and the way that hasem set up the world the natural way is that the one who's the whole as we said let's say the community misses the individual less than the individual misses the community and Hashem who is all encompassing all inclusive it should be or we would have thought it would be that we the soul our soul desires to be part of him to be back connected to God more than Hashem as it were would want all of the souls that are a piece of him to be with him to be connected to him we should care more than him so therefore there's a certain statement that's being said is a sad statement by by King David and he's saying look if I will admit that I'm just a part I'm just the Peace of hem my soul is just the peace of God and I know honestly my level of how how much do I want to be connected to God so a person's a thinking person if we're a little bit in tune attuned to our spiritual side so we want to be connected to God but we wish that we could be we wish that we could want it more we want to want it but to say that I really want it it's very hard so if that's the case so if I recognize in myself sadly that I don't have the amount of amount of desire to be connected to my Creator as much as I would want to so maybe the reverse would also be even more true that hasem doesn't care so much about me heaven forbid if I would take this to its logical conclusion I would lose hope because I would say look how much do I want it so how much does he want it maybe he doesn't even want me so why should I even bother trying a we find that the verse says and it's not our current verse but it says my soul tells me that I a portion of hem I'm a peace of God so if I listen to my spirit if I listen to my spiritual side it means that my spirit tells me that although I don't have as much desire as much as much you know that that feeling of a pull towards God as I wish I could have but my soul tells me that God has that desire for me hasem wants me to connect to him hasem does want us and it's interesting that at first he Compares it to to a like a a greater ho caring about the heart and I think of it as a father and as a father I a father child relationship the father has more love for the child than the child has for the father that's the natural way of things and I want to see my kids more than they per se want to see me right that's that's just the way it is but the soul tells as it were the human being don't don't worry just because you don't have that full desire doesn't mean that Hashem doesn't have that desire Hashem is your father father Hashem does love you Hashem does care about you and he wants to connect to you even though you don't have the same level of desire for connection the soul tells us that Hashem has more of a desire the our souls reveal the truth our souls reveal the secret that God even though he's all-encompassing and he doesn't need us us right God doesn't need us god is perfect but he does want us more than we want him he wants a relationship with us more than we know more than we can even fathom and therefore I can also hope right if Hashem didn't really care about me so then how much can I really put in the effort to want to have a relationship with him if he's not interested in a relationship with me but once I know that no it's the opposite God wants a relationship with me hm cares about me Hashem unfathomably wants to be connected to me so then I can also want right if this wouldn't be the case I would lose my feeling whatever feelings they do have of wanting connection I would lose this is what I would say I say how can I hope to that's a reference to the divine presence but I do even though I I face the challenge of of having the desire to connect to you hasem I do hope to you why because I know that you want me to be connected to you and indeed the p is telling us the first the original verse that we read how do I hope to you hem I'm able to have a desire to connect to you why because you want to connect to me therefore for that's why I know I can trust in you right you know to a human being wants to feel like you have upon whom you can rely but found a parking spot right the the sense of wanting to do it myself wanting to be separate wanting to be on my own but at the same time there's something in me that wants to return to be part of to to my salvation is going to come from it's going to come from you my God if I'm sick if I have challenges if I have difficulties the solution is to turn back to Hashem turn back to God when a person is sick was saying when I am sick where do I turn I turn to God who can I turn to besides for you you know that I didn't go like so many others to the doctors who will save a person who will fix a person who will cure a person I feel I prefer not to even go to a doctor says according to I prefer not to even go to a doctor and think Hashem you're working through the doctor the doctor is your agent the next p says save me for my sins I don't want to be involved with anybody else but you I recognize that if something's going on in my life if there's a challenge in my life Financial challenge a spiritual challenge an emotional challenge a physical challenge whatever the challenge is I recognize that I create my spiritual reality the the spiritual reality affects my physical reality my emotional reality Etc and if that's the case the next p says save me from my sins I recognize the root of the problem you Hashem can forgive me for my Aus that are causing the problems that I'm in you know involved with I want to go to the root I don't need to hack at the leaves this means to say save me from my sins CU I trust in you and I know that that's the reason why the negative situations Gathering more and more money trying to take care of my own needs I recognize that that's it's a waste of time it's not what gets me it's not it it's not what gets me my needs Mak instead what do I want I don't want to be involved in trying to take care of my needs you provide my needs I just want to serve you I just want to learn your Tyra I just want to fulfill your mitz I just want to do your will help me not have to be involved what am I hoping for I'm trying so hard that's not what I want I want my focus to be on you I want all of my heart all of my desires to be focused on serving you right think about it so much of our hearts so much of our thought space so much of our being our lives are spent trying to figure out how to make money and trying to figure out how to be successful imagine if we didn't have to think about that imagine what life would be like if we just focused on our relationship with God exclusively that's what is saying what else do I need what else do I want I just want to have a relationship with you hasem just want a relationship with you sh says same idea says I recognize I understand that all of the things that people desire in this world a car a house even a pretty place to walk around in nature all the things that human beings desire and want a family Etc why do I need all those things a human being does need those things right say we s students needs to feel like he's accomplishing so here King David says yes there's many things that people want in life there's many things that people desire but I just want anything that I want I only want it so I can serve you anything that I want I just want to to be to be there to enable me to not have worries to not have to not have problems that not have things that weigh me down I just want to be able to serve you I want to focus my heart and my thoughts in such a way that whatever I ask for it's just really so that I can serve you is just really so that I can have a relationship
