hey so last week i received some feedback that i didn't make it so clear in the video what exactly was the connection between not allowing perfect to be the enemy of good and our forefather of rum being told to go and leaving his homeland his birthplace his father's home so in a word the idea is that avrom didn't know all the details of what this journey would be god didn't even tell him what the destination was and yet all that mattered to abraham was hey god told me to go so i'm gonna go he didn't need the big picture that's what i was saying about not allowing perfect to stand in the way of good is that sometimes and i know in my own life i feel like i need to do all the different things i need to make sure that it's all properly executed and everybody would agree that ninety percent is better than zero [Music] percent [Music] god appears to avraham our forefather after his circumcision at the age of 99. and abraham then sees three pastors by three men who are really angels but he didn't know that just yet and he literally puts god on hold and he runs and deals with these three men to host them really i mean i don't know about you but when i'm talking to god or studying tara you know doing something spiritual with god i don't really feel you know the presence and revelation of god um in a tangible sense it's more you know a a mental i really should have scripted this so i could relate this better i can think about it and i could be aware of it but i don't see it here our holy and righteous forefather abraham is literally having this revelation of god before him and yet he puts god on hold to go and host some three men that were passing by what's up with this well what is a revelation of god what's god like anyways i mean is he chill is he cool is he super scary intense what exactly is the revelation of god like well of course i'm asking this question because i'm going to answer this question because of course i know exactly what a revelation of god is like no i don't but we're going to speak about god in our terms because i mean god himself does so god is the essence of good and a revelation of god means seeing true giving true selflessness true love so a deeper understanding [Music] of god's essential nature which inevitably is a deeper understanding of why god creates the world what god wants and abraham now on a much deeper level saw how god is all about giving totally selfless [Music] and he sees that the whole purpose of life is to give is to emulate god is to partner with god in doing acts of goodness in order to reveal in every aspect of creation the godliness the godliness that lies at its core and is its very life force so avraham could have been in middle of a tremendous spiritual mind blow let's we'll just make that a word for it but the benefit of that is in order to apply it to do exactly what god wants this revelation only enhanced and highlighted our forefather abraham's trait of loving kindness i can be on a spiritual trip i can be studying so much today i can be praying from today to tomorrow [Music] but the purpose is for me to channel that in my life in my relationship with others in my relationship with everything how i do everything [Music] get in increase in acts of goodness and kindness and tyra study and mitzvah observance and in our joy in our life very soon [Music] and we've been saying very soon for too long maybe immediately the default [Music] you
