An Eye for an Eye | Rabbi Avraham Schorr

When we take out the Sefer Torah on Shabbos, we say a pasuk in נ”ך, I heard from R’ Don Segal shlit”a, the Mashgiach, he explained what is the meaning of כי עין בעין mean? An eye for an eye. How do we understand the simple explanation of this pasuk? And R’ Don shlit”a explained it, that as much as we watch our eyes in Gallus, that is as much as we will be able to see when Moshiach comes. כי עין בעין, an eye for an eye. As much as the eyes are protected from bad before the Geula, you will be able to see by the Geula. The pasuk says in Yeshaya, Somebody who closes his eyes from seeing bad, the pasuk says afterwards, The Sfas Emes explains that as much as you are עוצם עיניו מראות ברע as much as you close your eyes and you fight for not looking at bad, that's how much you will be able to see מלך ביופיו מלך המשיח in all its glory you'll be able to see with your eyes. We all daven three times a day, ותחזינה עינינו בשובך לציון ברחמים. We ask the Ribono shel Olam that we have the ability to see when Moshiach comes. It lies in our hands. How much we will see when Moshiach comes? How much we will be zoche to see? How much we'll be able to see the מלך ביופיו תחזינה עיניך? As much as we have עוצם עיניו מראות ברע. Our generation, the עקבתא דמשיחא, goes through the Nisyonos of עוצם עיניו מראות ברע, to give us the zchus that we were able to be עוצם עיניו מראות ברע, that we were able to close our eyes and fight our battle and be able to not look. And with that zchus, we will be zoche to see מלך ביופיו תחזינה עיניך. ותחזינה עינינו בשובך לציון ברחמים. We need a lot of Rachamim to be able to see when the Ribono shel Olam brings the Geula. The Rachamim that we will have will be in the zchus of that that we watch our eyes and we keep our eyes only for good. And then we will be able to see the glory of מלך המשיח, במהרה בימינו.
