Why Early Treatment After Abuse Is Critical

What's really important for people to realize is that the sexual abuse does not just end after a victim is abused. The effects of sexual abuse last a lifetime. And unless treated early and quickly, we have seen all too often victims of sexual abuse spiral downward. Whether it's towards addiction, promiscuity, self harm, untreated victims of sexual abuse all too often lose the ability to trust, lose the ability to have healthy relationships, and lose the ability to communicate effectively. It is so important that as soon as we find out that somebody was sexually molested, we get them the proper treatment as quickly as possible so that we can give them the chance to lead a real healthy great life.
