Survivor Support: Creating Safe Spaces & Unsung Heroes #shorts

Our responsibility as a community is to create an environment where survivors will feel comfortable, safe enough to come forward when they're ready, in whatever way feels right for them. If you are a survivor and you're watching this and you're not ready to speak, that is not a failure. That is wisdom and we honor you for that. Before we Before we hear from Nehama, I also want to take a few minutes on a personal reflection. Since we're gathered in this building in this Makom Kodesh, I must share something that has not been shared publicly before. Most people sitting in this room do not know this, but for me personally and for Amudim and for the over 20,000 individuals and families that we've had the privilege of helping, there's an unsung hero who is very connected to this Makom. And that person is Laser Shiner. 10 years before Amudim even existed, Laser saw something in me that I certainly didn't see in myself. He took me under his wing and gave me the opportunity and ability to help those who were suffering and struggling.
