To find that balance in between the two, I know is is a a regular ongoing struggle. I think a lot of people assume the rabbi is the last person that they would want to speak to when something unfortunate is going on in their life, something that they wouldn't be proud of cuz they assume the rabbi is uh you know, only sitting over a Gemara all day and what will he do with this? The reality is it's usually exactly the opposite. Um a seasoned rabbi, I'm not talking about someone with 30, 40 years, but uh a rabbi who's in the field and connecting with his congregation probably has seen much more than your friends.
