In a way, he's worse than the abuser.
>> Meaning
if you ask any godel in the world today,
rav, rebel, rosh yeshiva, mekubal,
is sexual abuse a thing? They're all
going to say yes. No, they
all will, they will, yeah.
>> if you say to them, "Do you hear what
Yankel did?" No, Yankel would never do
it.
Why?
So, at the end of the day,
it's worse than denial.
At least when they were in denial, they
were they were they were in denial. They
were they didn't know. They weren't.
Now, there's no excuse. You know it
exists.
>> This one's They're actually fighting you
by protecting the abuser.
>> I ever had in this industry,
unfortunately, was
when a victim went to a rav on their
own.
So,
the rav right away said, "No, the this
is the victim." Called me after they
went to the rav. I went back to the rav
with the victim and with and with the
parents.
And the rav said, "Listen,
we can't believe aid echad." All of a
sudden, by the way, everybody becomes
the biggest talmid chacham and bakki
b'shas poskim and tak.
We can't
But, if you find another person, then of
course, they have to go cuz that's going
to be with two people, okay.
By the way, mind you, sexual abuse
always occurs in private. So, a year and
probably 20 victims later, probably,
we get another victim of the same
abuser.
Now, this one wasn't coming for the
police. Now, they're coming for help on
the abuse side.
But, we went back to the rav. We said,
"By the way, you made a psak. When
there's two people,
the
I said, "First of all, will you give it
to us in writing?"
No.
I said, "So, this family's going to go
to the police because you made the psak,
and then
they're going to come down on them, and
then you're going to be the one to be
the first one fighting them." No, chas
v'shalom. I said it, I'm going to back
it.
Okay.
But, then he adds to it, "But only one
victim can go to the police, not both."
Why?
Because one victim's enough to get a guy
into trouble.
Two is going to make it worse and that's
more than what halachically would be
acceptable. To me, there's no timeline
until somebody dies or could be 60, 70
years.
So that's how the rav I said, "But you
don't understand. If one person goes to
the police,
then the community is going to say this
person's lying, there's only one victim.
If two people go, at the very least, the
same way you didn't let them go."
Not mechanism.
Now this family was to me mistaken they
followed the guide.
And yes, this was the rav who went to
them and said, "You have to stop with
the police, you have to stop with the
case because
because that was the story and that's
the story in every big case and it's
what I hear every single time.
