Gabby Schul is with us. Gabby and Yami
Shasta are the producers of Unite to
Heal
and they've been doing this for a very
very long time. I think whenever we've
done the 36 hours uh of all this
brilliant content, I believe they've
always been behind it over at Charity
Bids and we have an opportunity here
talk about what goes into producing this
event. Gabby, welcome to the show.
>> Thank you.
>> How unusual to see you on this end of
things.
>> It's a little bit overwhelming to sit on
this side.
>> Now you see the guest on the screens
over there.
>> Uh and you have no gobby giving you
instructions, so it's even more
interesting.
>> We got our deer. He's uh
>> yeah she's doing a good job. So um when
you when you sit down
and it's determined between you and uh
Guck and everybody at Amudim that you're
going for it again. You're going to
produce 36 amazing hours. It takes an
effort to come up with combinations and
with features that are going to be
really appealing to people and the last
35 hours proves that you guys were able
to do it. Tell us about that behind
thescenes process. Well, before we get
the go ahead from Yummy and I look, we
live in Toronto. There's really not much
going on in Canada these days. So, what
we do all year is what are we going to
do for Unite to heal next year? We get
together every day to do that. Um, but
on a serious note, we we start talking
about it probably May, April, May. We
start shooting ideas and then beginning
of the summer, we'll have a call with Sv
and his team to say we're going ahead
with it. And then it's brainstorming
sessions uh you know to to come up with
uh not only new content but um you know
we want to appeal to all our audiences.
So sports and entertainment and
obviously mental health which is the
forefront and and and you know the main
part of it
>> sports it's politics it's the latest
news. I mean today today we're going
through you know the whole topic of
anti-semitism constantly. you made sure
to address it. And there's comedy
involved as well because there are a lot
of funny people in our community who
have a comedic take on what's happening
in our community and that's fun to
watch. So you're really
>> giving a tremendous poperie if you will
of content and I think the last 35 hours
proves it and the benefit of course
these are going to last forever. I mean
people will be able to access it
throughite to heal uh whenever they
want. And I mean, if people have seen
what the website looks like this year
compared to other years, Tippy and her
team have really made it look
state-of-the-art, incredible, where the
inc this content will obviously, as you
said, live on here for people to come
back and watch and obviously be inspired
to give not only today until we reach
our 3.5, but continue giving to support
him. and you've gone ahead and you've um
uh produced a lot of great spots
um with a lot of uh returning panelists,
but you also have to give a fresh
perspective. You need to know who the
hot new people are out there around the
globe. And that, by the way, could be a
few sessions with the the team at
Charity Biz just to determine, hey, what
are people talking about? What do they
want to hear more about?
>> Great point. And and you know when Yummy
and I were sitting down and we're like
what are we going to do for
anti-semitism
as so important as it is to talk about
and to be aware of there's also a
fatigue that we have to be careful of.
So for that part and a lot more we rely
on Yummy with his great connections to
get a Deborah Messing and a Hill Neuer
who have probably never well I know had
never spoken before and definitely not
in public about these kind of things and
your Shabas Castam who although is
really popular but him and Nate Buzz
were so it was really cool to be able to
put those combinations and that's how we
you know try and come up with new fresh
content even if it's a topic that
>> you know might seem overspoken about or
I don't want to say overspoken about but
spoken about a lot
>> right in production which one did you
really pay attention to like which one
blew your socks off as it was going on I
know there's you know many of them
>> such an unfair question there's got to
be something where you said wow this is
like you know
>> look uh the shabas cast nate buzz was
wow just because they're not easy people
to reach Deborah Messing Hill I mean you
know that's obvious and then obviously
your your content your mental health
stuff so you know Dr. Hindi Klein and
Dr. the Schlam of Y they every single
year we have them but the stuff that
comes out of their mouths and obviously
you know the Duo panel we didn't do a
one during the 35 hours but you had the
whole team here
>> um not to mention Rab aer his therapy
session and his classroom I mean the the
we really love everything that we
produce because we uh we take a lot of
pride
>> and we shouldn't forget by the way you
have a lot of very prominent rabbis
involved I mean people who are community
leaders people who have a lot to say
about specific specific topics and you
invite them on to participate in these
panels as well.
>> Y
>> a lot of good stuff out there and as we
said it's going to last for a long time.
Now uh it's time for you to thank
everybody at Ammudim all the people that
make all this possible because it's it's
not just you and Yummy. It's really
teams of people that make all this
happen.
>> It is. So, you know, they say it takes a
village and uh it takes a few cities
because, you know, from the start we've
got and his team and you know, and Andy,
welcome Andy to Amidim and D'vorah and
Miriam and that team. Um, you know,
here's a shout out specifically to
Miriam because what what people see, you
know, this great content, what they
don't realize is that every single piece
of content we have to run by Miriam and
her team because you never know who's
watching and you need to be sensitive to
people that might get upset, offended,
triggered by something that might bring
something up. So, Miriam, thanks for
everything that you do over there. Um,
Tippy, Trish, and their team,
MVPs as always, what they've done with
the marketing and getting this out is is
unbelievable. Um, on our charity bid
side, obviously Adira, who's been with
us here every step of the way. Um,
Schlommo Weapon, who is a superstar
who's now living in Israel and he has
kept us and Israel hours. So, he's been
awake 24 hours and it's time for him to
get a good nap.
>> Love running into him, but it's been so
long since I run into
>> No, he's back and forth. And then and
then obviously our team leader and our
you know Yummy who uh thanks Yummy for
bringing us all together again for this
and really the the work that he does and
watching right now. You better be
watching Yet. Um and then not to mention
you know not directly with our you know
doing the campaign but our families. I
mean my wife and my honey Kaye and JJ
who have given up nights of us having to
travel for recordings and hours and
hours of call.
So we appreciate that. Uh you're very
very
>> by the way Gabby uh are we going to give
a special shout out to Shami Jacob and
the Breaking Bad crew out there out
there?
>> Who's Shami Jacob?
>> We're not giving him a shout.
>> Of course we got to
>> What are we What are we do? I mean,
you're aware of the fact that we're at
2.71 right now.
>> Yeah. I think Breaking the Breaking Bad
100%
>> get us to 3 million
>> 100%. And and here's the great part. One
of our big members, Fry Fishbane, his
daughter D'vorah is a
works at Amuim.
>> So, the Breaking Bad Kabra, just go to
her page, donate, and let's get to three
and a half million. I mean, I don't know
if if they told you, we're not leaving
here tonight until we get to three and a
half million.
>> So, I've been told. Yeah, exactly. So,
>> good boy.
>> Exactly. And just one other, you know,
thank you because what we don't realize
is even though during the production
there's a lot that goes into
>> the people that are on the panels
>> give of their time and it's not just an
hour. It's it's hours and hours. So, we
thank them very much
>> for for for giving of their time and
everything they do.
>> Uh Gabby, I thank you. Pleasure working
with you again.
>> Always great to see you and uh thank you
so much.
>> Gabby Schul, everybody, he joins me in
begging everyone. There's 22 minutes
left. So now we're begging, begging
everyone. If you haven't given yet,
now's the time. 3,50 people have given.
Now it's time to join that list and make
your voice heard on behalf of Ammud. And
remember, everything is doubled.
>> Literally 180 is 360. Forget about the
small numbers now. We're at the home
stretch. If you wait till now,
>> you got you you got to give and really
give. 180 is 360. 1,000 is 2,000. 10,000
is 20,000. We need you to give and get
us to our goal. the um the total right
now 2.71 million help us get to three
and a half
>> at the moment Gabby
>> Yankee and his team from Flamotion how I
did not forget but a really special
shout out because the past 36 hours and
leading up to these 36 hours Yankee that
was not an oversight there was just so
much to say there thank you to you and
your team who make this whole thing
happen
>> we give a nice round of applause of
applause everybody slow motion crowd
Town Heights, Brooklyn, New York. If you
figure out how to get in here, the
experience is amazing. It
>> sure is. Thank you.
>> Simple as that.
