Birthday Cards Saved a Kids Life

He said, "I'm here to say more than hi. You saved my life." There was a rebby there in Baltimore years and years ago. A guy came over to him. He didn't really recognize him. And he said, "You don't remember me, but years ago you were my rebby. Thank you for coming back to say hi." He said, "I'm here to say more than hi. You saved my life." Saved your life. How did I save your life? He said, "Years ago, I was in a really deep, dark place. I was looking around my bedroom one last time before I would just end it all. And I noticed on top of my dresser a bunch of cards standing up on top of the dresser. Rebby, you know what those cards are. And the Rebi said, "Wow, of course I know what happened." Since that kid was a young child in that Reby's class, the Rebby took note that this child seemed to be struggling with something and decided, I'm going to mail this kid a birthday card. And he set a reminder for himself to do it next year, too. And he did it the following year and the following year after that. And the kid saved all those cards on top of that dresser. Those birthday cards saved that kid's life.
