There Has Never Been A Partner For Peace
1,918 views
I took questions from the live chat on whether there's ever been a real peace process and I laid it out: every time Israel offered, it was met with more bloodshed. They could've had a free Palestine in '48, '67, the 2000s. They chose otherwise. Also, a Jordan Peterson rap happened. Both things can be true. One comment says, "My god, it's perfect,
brother." Thank you. You know, if I did
it the whole episode,
it would take too long
and it would turn this whole live stream
into a concentration camp to mow the
lawn, you know. So, that's how Norman
Finkelstein gardening. I have to mow the
lawn. Okay. And I'm going to do it.
He just seems like not fun at all.
We need a rap battle between Jordan
Peterson and Finkelstein.
[laughter]
I like that rap battle between Jordan
Pet. It's like, "Hey, what's your
problem, man? You're a Marxist
postmodernist. You want to destroy the
world." I don't. Well, I kind of do. And
you should stop putting your hair into a
nasty twirl. Wait, stop that. You're
disgusting. Despicable. You love Hamas.
I do. I really do. There's nothing I can
say. I can't deny it. I love Hamas. Ah,
yeah.
Soap.
Hey, Norman. What? You suck. Yes.
[laughter]
I can't do it on the spot. I wish I had
the Harry Max skills, but it's hard. You
know, it's hard. They're very close.
It's Norman and Jordan, you know. You
got to jump around in the vocal register
from this and that to this and that, you
know. Um, there you go. Thank you for
the comment. That was fun. Uh, keep the
comments coming. We'll go a few more
minutes here before the episode wraps
up. Boom. Thank you so much. Appreciate
that. Uh, one more reminder, people.
Head on over to the merch store. There
it is right there. Get your merchandise

Uh, you're good. Ammy Frani David, is
that the Jewish name? I hate it. Uh,
thank you for the comment. I appreciate
that.
Appreciate that. And more rap battles. I
actually did a little Jordan Peterson
rap on stage once. Uh, you know, I
forgot how it went. It was like um
uh how did it go in Ontario? I've gone
insane. They want to something media
refrain. You know, I saw this coming.
C16 law start coming down, down. Here we
go. Good for you, Mr. Trudeau. [snorts]
I bet you're feeling pretty good about
yourself right now that you got control.
Well, if words are the problem, Canada's
fallen. It's on a roll. And they could
try to take my license while my
colleagues sit in silence. But when it
comes to problems, I choose speech. You
choose violence. Boom. Drop the mic.
Drop it. So, there you go. It just came
back to me. I should do more of that for
sure. [snorts]
>> I bet you didn't know that I could do
that. I bet you didn't know that Donald
Trump could rap. Or better yet, a
Terminator like Arnold Schwarzenegger
trying to pull me out like as if my name
was Sega. And I ain't going out like no
punk Get used to that and I
[clears throat] might say I came to get
down. I came to get down. So get out
your seat and jump around like these
media outlets. They're coming and
they're coming and they what? They said
I banned them. They're not even here.
They don't come. They don't come because
they write nothing. No nothing nice.
They're not so nice. They're not so
nice. Maybe we could do a little rap
battle with Mandani. What do you think?
He likes the Holy Land five nasty
people, but he likes them. Hopefully, he
does a good job, but I don't really mean
that. I'm just being friendly. Okay.
And let's take a few more comments
before we wrap it up. Destiny and Norman
Finkelestein debate. Well, yeah. Mr.
Benell, don't be imbecilic. I'm sorry.
This episode is dominated by Norman
Finkelstein. Mr. Benell, Belli, Benelli.
Well, I I'm not I'm not being in the
Silicon. I just kind of I don't really I
I haven't really dest done a Destiny,
but he kind of has this sort of I just
don't understand why, you know, it's
sort of this kind of way of talking
where it's like really really fast and
really like I don't have it down, but
his lips and jaws are always kind of
moving a certain way, but like you know,
you would call it you would call it a
gent it's I know it's not perfect. It's
not even a good impression. Stick to me.
Okay, I will. Uh let's take a few more
comments before we wrap it up. Before we
wrap it up. Oh, thank you so much for
the contribution. Have you ever looked
into the concept of ultimate attribution
error? And do you think [snorts] it
plays a role in perpetuating the
conflict? Ultimate attribution error.
Error. I think I can figure out what
that is. I don't know if I've maybe I've
heard the term before where that means
that like one side thinks the other side
is completely responsible and they take
no accountability for themselves and
therefore it perpetuates the conflict.
Is that what you're saying, Jordan? You
can respond in the comments. Ultimate
attribution error.
Um, if that's what that means, I don't
agree with ult that that that's the
reason the conflict is perpetuated. It's
perpetuated because
there's a refusal to accept Israel at
all by the other side and they
completely reject it on ideological,
theological, religious grounds. And by
Islamic doctrine, they will refuse any
Jewish sovereignty on the land. And
that's what animates Hamas. That's what
animates, I think, the Palestinian
Authority, too, even though they don't
maybe say it as loudly and proudly, but
no Yahood here. No Yehood, no Jews.
That's not a starting point. I think the
peace process is a total illusion.
There's no partner for peace because the
partner wants you completely gone and
dead. And so, um,
that's what I think perpetuates it. as
soon as they wanted a state many many
times over in 48 67s
[sighs]
80s 90s 2000s could have had one they
say they wanted free Palestine they
could have had a free Palestine instead
they rather an unfree Israel stop wanted
to kill the Jews you would have had a
far better uh far better uh projection
into the future of a of a of a statehood
far better uh you'd be in a far better
lot in life if you stopped wanted to
kill the Jews more than you wanted to
build your own
They say it proudly. So I don't know
what else to say about that until you
know where do you see that? You see all
these debates in Israeli society from
the left, the right, the center about
statehood and two states and peace
process. Where do you see that on the
Palestinian side? You don't see it.
Doesn't exist. Not even a conversation.
They're just laughing at us.
Um while the the Jewish side, so to
speak, and the liberal Zionists and the
right-wing Zionists argue over politics
and policy and all these things, it's
nonsense. And even settlement policy. Is
that is there a deliberation happening
on the other side? But what to do? I I I
just don't hear it. I really don't hear
it.
I'm open to hearing people uh call for
two states side by side peace with
Israel. You're hearing it a little bit
in the Sunni G and the Gulf States and
the Emirates
and the states that are joining the
Abraham Accords. Um great, but few and
far between. Not enough certainly within
the actual Palestinian society itself. I
don't see it. You see widespread support
for Hamas. You find copies of Minecom in
the West Bank. So you can delude
yourself into thinking there's a peace
process with two partners that seek
equal prosperity and peace and security,
but it just doesn't exist. That's just
wishful thinking.
Um,
and I I think it's wishful thinking.
[sighs]
Is the Arab peace initiative a fair
start point? I don't know. Oh, I think
it has to it has to also reflect in
actions, not even just statements. I
have to see that more and look more into
that. I've seen those statements. I've
seen that argument that they put forth
this plan. No, I think there's a
rejectionism built into Palestinianism
built into it that rejects the idea, the
concept of a Jewish state.
Copies of mine conf. Okay, Amy. What?
You don't believe me? Speak to Israeli
soldiers that have been there going
house to house. You don't know. I do.
So, you can tell yourself whatever
reality you want. It's not the one
that's real.
Have you seen pictures on people's
phones of houses in the West Bank? Have
you seen houses in Gaza? Have you spoken
to Israeli soldiers who've been there?
No, you haven't. You just want a reality
that you want to manif manufacture for
yourself so you can have righteous
indignation condemning a a state you
know nothing about in a region you know
nothing about.
So,
what does that mean? I don't believe
them. All right. You don't have to
believe them.
That's your choice, but it's based on
nothing. I don't know what you're what
what are you basing it on? Who have
[snorts] you spoken to?
H
I think you're uh deliluding yourself.
You just you refuse to believe that
because it would cause a cognitive
dissonance in your own mind. I'm not
radical. Uh, the Palestinian side is
radical. That's the issue.
Um,
I know nothing about you, but you've got
an entire narrative. All right, prove me
wrong. Tell me about yourself if we're
here in the live going back and forth,
Vin. I don't I don't know anything about
you. Yeah, I guess I'm being
presumptuous because you claim to deny
what I'm saying with some confidence and
authority, but yeah, I'm making a guess.
I'm taking a guess.
Um,
and uh,
you know, I'm making a presumption.
That's true. If I'm wrong, show me how.
[sighs and gasps]
You're getting radicalized, dude. You're
not the same guy from last year. I think
I am. I don't think I've changed my
positions at all.
I'm open to conversations with people
who I think might be misinformed. I'm
still open. I'm open to conversations.
just telling you where things stand and
if I'm wrong, show me.
Um,
open to I would love nothing more than
to be kind of wrong about uh my read of
the situation, but the facts present
themselves. [snorts]
Okay, let's see.
Let's see what else.
Any other questions, comments?
Yeah, let's see. I don't really see a
change in his position. Am I missing
something? You're not missing anything.
Yeah.
Uh,
you're saying compare your rhetoric from
last year to now. I don't know.
Maybe I'm just being more realistic with
the messaging. Um, but nothing has
particularly changed. Maybe because
you're watching me on a live stream
speaking directly to camera, so it feels
more intense.
But, uh, I don't think I'm saying
anything untrue.
It's not radical. I think people who
want to kill the Yahood, the person who
killed somebody uh uh just before Yam
Kipper the other day going to a spring
with their uh child with their kid, shot
him dead intentionally because he was
Jewish. I think that's pretty radical.
Anyway, um I'm always happy to chat,
especially happy to chat with people who
disagree with me or whatever, assuming
they're well-intentioned, and even some
who aren't well-intentioned and maybe
can do a lot, but
um
but but I'm open to it. I think that is
the way to do it is to converse and
chat. I'm pretty engaging, but uh not
even trying to be defensive here. Let's
see. It's not more intense. It's less
it's it's less nuanced and more
totalizing. All right. Well, you'd have
to be specific. I'm not sure what you're
referring to. I mean, I guess in tone
sometimes that could be a little harsh,
but yeah, that's what happens when uh
uh that's what happens when I don't
know, you watch and watch for decades
and decades and realize that the problem
has always been that we in the West and
even in Israel like a lot oftenimes
delude themselves that there's a partner
for peace. I just haven't seen it.
Sorry. There's a denialism within
Palestinianism. I'm coming out and
saying it. Maybe sometimes you become
more secure in your positions and you
[snorts] know maybe I am but
um
so maybe uh things have become more
refined with time and uh uh I'm a little
more precise more precise in my
messaging. That could be I can feel the
intensity in the way I'm speaking but
it's just as truthful just because the
messaging is a little more refined and
precise. Don't confuse that with a
shift.
Um, yeah. And again, I'll talk to most
people who I think might be misinformed.
I do not jump to conclusions on where
people end up given the environment
we're in and all the false information
that's out there, all the distortions,
all the lies and all of that. Um, you
know,
but I judge people by their behavior and
their actions, too. And so
sometimes being harsh and critical is
what's needed rather than uh kid gloves
softballing and attempts to understand
when I think I fully understand at a
certain point certain things when you
watch the patterns and repeated failures
and whatnot.
