The issue of affordability is very real.
It's very personal to me. I think back
to my childhood when we would take
vacations several a year and almost
every time without fail, my mother would
forget to bring my boat shoes and we'd
have to buy a new pair at on location on
site. We would do everything we could
do. We work with local and state
officials to make sure they could find
me a new pair of boat shoes because we
would take the yacht out and we would
start fishing. And sometimes uh bait was
an issue. You know, we would use
different types of bait and it would
take a little while to catch fish,
especially because it was deep sea. You
know, we'd have sometimes nannies that
couldn't join us for these vacations.
We'd bring one or two, but not the usual
three and four that my mother required
in order to uh assist with the family.
Uh there are many instances growing up,
many different occasions where uh uh we
we wouldn't have the resources that we
would need to uh sustain the lifestyle
that we had. It was very difficult. Even
when we go out to restaurants a couple
times a week, sometimes going to the
restaurants, uh, if the reservations
were full, we'd have to wait 10 or 15
minutes to get a reservation at the
local French steakhouse. Uh, and, uh,
you know, I didn't even like steak as a
child, so I'd have to get the chicken.
It was very, very difficult to do that.
Uh, they would have a kids meal, but it
wasn't always available readily, and
waiting for those meals to show up and
arrive as we waited 10, sometimes 15
minutes for for the reservation. um you
know we weren't always able to rent out
the entire restaurant even though on
occasion we could it wasn't always an
option and so it was very difficult so
this issue of affordability is is very
real to me I mean sometimes we were
living on maybe two to three million a
month there's barely enough to cover the
yacht fuel costs
