ALONE TOGETHER: Day 3 & 4 Of Israel’s Coronavirus Shutdown

[Music] at 1:00 p.m. intell stone Israel I am on my porch right now which overlooks a gigantic park towards me kids the crazy few days life as we know it has changed completely but that's not a bad thing I think it's a good thing and whether people are listening to the government the Ministry of Health will do whatever they can to stay indoors I will continue to update you as things progress okay so today the third day of Israel shut down I didn't mention that earlier people are starting to take things more seriously but still it's not good enough allegedly there's gonna be a minion a quorum of 10 men praying in the garage of my building because most people aren't going to the synagogue these days let's check it out see so there's ten people here they're all vomiting playing it together but they're staying far away from each other I'm gonna join them now they're talking about locking down my town where I'm living right now it's called Kiryat theorem tell stone in tell stone there's a big problem because there are about six thousand residents in the town over 1,600 of them are in quarantine because we had a bunch of cases here of people who got affected with coronaviruses so as it currently stands there are 14 confirmed cases in a town of 6,000 people it comes out to about one case for every four hundred and twenty eight people which is very very high percentage as I mentioned many many people are in quarantine the the grocery store the only grocery store in this town closed because someone who had coronavirus was there yesterday I think or in the past few days so they closed it down another has to disinfect the whole place and that's what's happening so hopefully the grocery store will open up soon again I am in voluntary quarantine I didn't come into contact with anybody who has coronavirus but because so many people in my town are in quarantine and have been in contact with people my wife and I and our children have just been pretty much quarantined at home for the last 10 days voluntarily because we just don't want to bump into anybody who has grown a virus it's a pretty scary situation and I would tell everybody watching this please take this seriously and try and stay home as much as possible you really don't need any extra stress in your life right now on another note because they're talking about a national lockdown in this country first they were saying it's only gonna be tell stone now they're saying they might lock down the whole country because they're there so many cases and this is just spreading very quickly hey stuff is coming soon Jewish holiday of Passover I don't have enough food for that with specifically needed matzah so even though it's three full weeks before pays off I'm going out okay thank you anyway so even though it's three full weeks before basic I am going out right now to get schmira matzah special kind of matzah because I don't want to rely on anybody else I don't want to have to beg people before pays off maybe they're gonna be a lockdown I just want to know that I have it in my house now and then we aren't done with it so what my daughter hon Allah what my daughter is saying is that we already have matzah yeah we have some matzo but it's not schmira matzah which is the kind we usually use on Pesach so I got a couple boxes of machine matzah just in case but you know someone hooked me up a friend of mine works at a matzo bakery actually a cousin of mine he's gonna help me get some Matz's now so that I have what I need for a patient okay so I'm heading out now into the streets they're almost empty usually at this hour past just a little bit past 7 p.m. there would be a lot of people still walking around it's really quiet most people are just trying to stay home as I mentioned are you know over 1,600 people in quarantine right now so anyhow because of because there's so many people in quarantine here intel stone there are many people doing Fassett and kindness and you know I know families with entire families in quarantine so Nona can take out the garbage for them so your neighbor will come to take out the garbage people are going shopping running errands for each other it's really nice it really brings out how nice people this community are and we hope to always be able to help each other okay just arrived to the mob so they created are not thinking there's no seriously as I am but we'll see what happens hopefully are going to be okay [Applause] you know today late today oh my goodness about to test my first laps of the year made right now buddy hunter the northern for the put him in the Dennis I was told that the bakery might get shut down but for now they are trying to apply for an emergency license to keep the place open so that Jews have matzah for pizza okay it is day four of these shut down today I have to go out I'm trying to stand was not as possible but I'm gonna run out for a couple of minutes we're going to a store in Jerusalem to pick up canvas for my wife she's a amazing artist and she does lots of paintings and she's out of canvas and now that we're stuck at home she wants to be able to paint you know in the coming few weeks I'm gonna pick up some canvases I placed an order yesterday the stores not open but they're gonna leave them at the door for me and I just have to go get the orders from the door additionally out on the streets of tell stone right now there's people who are running around with disinfectant and disinfecting the whole town the streets they warned us not to go outside I mean in a car is fine but not to walk around that side because apparently the camels clothes they used are not healthy or maybe they're bad for clothing I'm not sure I'm not sure exactly what the problem is they told us not to walk around outside so we may see them as we're driving out of Tustin okay so I'm here at the art store I've got to go in and get try got my masks I mean there's the canvas with paint see so the store is closed not allowed to go inside and you need anything from outside and pick it up you know le the about mother stepheson then after just picking all the stuff up and now she can paint or Ray O'Connell you waited so nicely this is the grocery store intel stone everybody's walking around with masks gloves the press is here it's crazy unbelievable what this has come to and unfortunately a lot of people still don't understand that this is not just an Israel problem this is not just a China problems not an Italy problem this is everywhere the only way this goes away is if people really start staying home and staying away from each other we've been home for ten days already in today's the 11th day and I do go out very rarely but I do not come in contact with any people I'm wearing gloves and a mask whenever I get out of my car we're being really careful and hopefully this will take care of the problem sooner than later just driving through the streets here and there's not a soul to be seen anywhere his only car is about to pass me the only car that I've seen in the last you know five minutes driving around there's no one out and about everybody's just Stockholm and again it's a it's a difficult sight to see because who doesn't love to see kids playing in the parks and people running around taking walks going shopping but it's just for you know for the sake of the world right now we just need to stay home it is very late at night I'm heading to bed tomorrow all public transportation will be stopped in Israel so people are really going to be grounded staying home [Music] you know a lot of the countries in quarantine self-isolation people are just staying home so we're all alone but we're also together because everyone's going through the same thing at the same time so we are alone together if that makes any sense have a good night stay safe see you later
