Why Our Children Don’t Want to Lead Anymore…

If you praise leaders and you find the good in the leadership, then you have the opportunity to be able to have these great children who'll be doing amazing things, great leadership. Why don't good people go into leadership? Where have all the leaders gone in Jewish world and otherwise? Some people say, "Oh, it's because of the money." But then you look at the data and you see all of these leadership positions that are empty. Heads of schools that can't be found, executive directors and so on and so forth. Where are they? Why aren't they going into it? It's that the people sit at the Shabas table and they complain about the rabbis and the teachers and the heads of schools. And so the children who are sitting there, the young adults, the teenagers, the growing people choosing and making their own career choices, they hear these negative things. And so when we start criticizing and cursing leaders, sometimes that's appropriate. But if we do so at every turn without ever praising, is it any wonder that people don't want to go into leadership? They don't want to take on this mysterious nephish.
