[Music] well we have introduction the reason why i felt that we have to meet rabbi friedman i got an email with a video but it wasn't a regular video it was a video of an introduction to myself this yuma with a point by point visual by visual of the awaited makipurim which is prominently featured in our upcoming musarta i start thinking to myself the amount of content that we have from da fa hayem whether it's that yamiche itself whether it's the daf intros and the daf reviews which people use for hazara which every single daf has visuals going through chakravataria of the daf i said i have to meet the person behind the videos we never see you on screen so thank you for acquiescing thank you for acquiescing to this discussion so let's just start by telling the audience a little bit about your background where you come from and then we'll get into how you got into this video producing business i had a rebbe whose name was freund weinberger this is going back i think he was in the third of fourth grade and he did something which today it would be of course you know standard but in those days for rebbe to do what he did was extremely unusual and it left a tremendous impression on us and it came to the process of the crying goddamn with the the crunch of the goddamn the whole the whole the past he created a full sized beggard of the ishmael begotten and he brought into class and he had and during the week everybody had an opportunity to put it on as we learned the silken which was it most like it was like an honor it was like an amazing thing and it left an really impression on us so all the years i definitely had a tremendous um tear towards michigan the caleb that uh the the obviously got them etc so i used to learn that with the patches all the time i mean during the years so as we go on i eventually i was originally going to go into ghana when i left the coil i learned some cypher i was going to i was going to but it didn't quite work out but also etc no backing et cetera so i decided to just go into graphic arts since i was an artist um from hashem for sure can you tell us a little bit about your art when you were growing up when you were a child you used to be doodling around how'd that play out so i at the in camp we had an opportunity to really develop our talents it was really it was really fantastic it wasn't like today everything's computerized etc it's do everything by hand and it it helped us develop our towns whatever it was music art et cetera et cetera so it was uh camp was a tremendous boost for developing your towns but um eventually i i like i said i didn't go to ghana which i wanted to but i ended up going into graphics for panaso but over the years the bug was always in me all the years and eventually once um the computer caught up with to the point where we can i could start doing things on a different type of basis i decided to jump into a project that always was uh very close to me in the same dash and we decided to produce a 3d walkthrough of the best omegas which took many many years because even at that point computers are quite quite slow so to speak compared to today but what should we push it through and based on the success of that i saw how the visual really left a tremendous impact on people okay so you mentioned that you were artistic growing up and it was something that you always had in you both the art and the teaching you wanted to teach children teach adults so at some point it seems like you merge the two together so how'd that start yes howard's thought is very interesting i was learning with gabriussi of mine it was knackered at night we just learned at night and it was a very complicated piece of gomura and he did such a simple thing he took out a pen a little piece of paper and then where his passive is what he's relying on what he's relying on then the cash and turrets we also had a chart of that omen without even realizing it and i looked at i said this is really fantastic it's just simple concept just organizing the different how they contrast with each other how they you know how they're different how they're the same and once i saw that i said this is really really terrific and i started developing that idea more and more and eventually the frame came to be based on that yeah so that consists of three parts you have the shear which i wish lenny schwartzberg gives and then what we have on all that available on the fajam's website is the intro to every single daf a brief two-minute point by point what today is not going to talk about and then you have the daf hakayam review which people use for hazara i get messages from all over the world i'm sure you do as well people use that it's a six five to seven minute kazara point by point with visuals so that's where you started using bringing in the visual and the graphic design into the daf and how does it take you to prepare each one of those dolphin well you know it's interesting question because first of all not all that much the same obviously but also being the fact that it's a deaf daft of family does not give any breaks you have to produce every single day every single day and of course you don't come around so you got to produce ahead of time so it was really around the clock type of operation it really was around the cloud but i had brookshire had help i had my son pinchas who was also a terrific uh tremendous graphic artist he was my right-hand man throughout this whole thing the art in the graphic arts but i also had somebody by the name of reuven kalisch robbie rosenkalisch who was our editor he used to help us write the reviews together of sportsberg then had a couple of you can go out over the years that helped out so that was the basis of the uh the and we have to mention uh mr husky kaftail oh so of course behind all of this is kavataar because the truth of the matter is originally when i thought about the idea i went around to different um philanthropists i used that word and a lot of them considered it but you know schlep schlep says who was a friend of mine he was very excited about it because he himself was very much in he uh he has yeshiva that he runs it's this so he was very excited about it and eventually he came back to me and he says we're doing it and he's going to take care of all the sponsorship and he was amazing i have to say this i have to tell the audience i remember when we were launching all that even before that we were planning mapping out what's going to be on old off so i knew about that and i approached you and i was telling you what we're doing and what we want to have a place where we could get the top quality daffy mission room and supplemental material to help someone on the deaf i remember what you told me was and i must have repeated this so many times he said why wouldn't that want to have a stall or a booth in the daffody mall and from there hashem the feedback we get is amazing from all over the world literally people who use it whether they're going on a trip and they want to have something to listen to the daf quickly whether they're hazarding for a beginner people all the time i get that so let's transition from after you finished the daf yaimi which you finished after the 13th cycle and now we're in the 14th cycle so you transition more to focusing on reset the overviews and now yuma's coming up and you produce this magnificent art no better word for it as an introduction and overview of messages so tell us what went into that yeah i'll tell you truth um the word art is a very interesting word using because art was never something that was associated with entire learning and it's just something that really exploded in this generation starting with art scroll etc which is unbelievable they opened up the whole world and the word art has stuck and here we are using art in a very i guess you can call it um positive legitimate way to help the learning and it really has made a tremendous impact with hashem so these visuals that we do it's just it nails it down and all of a sudden it becomes alive and uh you can relate to it all of us take the word imarin right what is amarin i i hold my all my life i'm growing up with hey marvin it's all over the place over here but what is it until i was finally able to sit down and remember robert belski we did a video with herrerabelski not that many years ago cycle previous psychology and he gave us a private preview just me and my sons we videotaped it and he taught us what amorem is i saw for the first time alive what is amaryam subrah we were able to bring it out in our videos and now people feel very comfortable with the concepts that they were never kind of comfortable with before that so just to wrap things up so now you're working on introductions to the messages and hopefully i'm sure that's something that you're looking forward to producing as the enemy cycle continues anything else that you're working on or something that you're dreaming about working on that if you had the time the funding and anything else that you need abaya which basically is a listing of every day that was done in the basement dish and when we dive in every day and something that we'd have every day and we don't really pay attention to it because it's not fleshed out in the in the memory and um unless you learn with the circuit real deep you'll know it otherwise it's not so i was hoping to be able to do a a full presentation of that but you got to go and you got to move is coming which is circus so we have to start working on sukko already and um after it comes rosh hashanah and just to point out we'll learn a human for the next few months it ends in the middle of the summer and then you start with the sukkah which literally ends the week before rosh hashanah so the sectors and you're starting the if i could call them the easier messages the more relevant the sectors the more familiar messages in my it's the perfect time to jump in and learn through with this humor success a lot to do over there and there's a lot of things to do still so they actually help wish that i had to continue um it should be as close for us and it should be supposed to clog strong they should be able to to bring up the havana in terms of the visual you
