generated by aldaf is dedicated as a host to mayor benjayin a wonderful person a person who was modest and pious a resident of casablanca morocco a person who showed great respect for torah for teachers of torah and for jewish community passed away recently during this uh during this difficult period and we hope and pray hashem that tonight's seoum and the torah generally which is generated by this project by the community which is aldaf should be a long lasting and abiding for him for his fayomi brings several several strengths to each and every one of us who have the privilege to participate in it one thing which we all recognize that we get through the learning of the da fayomi is having fixed time for study and even if it's not a particular time of the day but that sense of obligation to make sure that every day we study torah is something which the da fayomi brings out in us keeps us strong and fast too it becomes the anchor in a great sense around which our day needs to revolve and the second thing of course is that we're not just learning torah but we're learning torah together there's a community there's a home that we have to use the language of the seal we are yosh based we are residents of the same basement together all over the world the thousands the thousands the tens of thousands the hundreds of thousands who study the daphaomi and the the tens of thousands who are doing it through the community of aldaf we're learning together in the language of the theo we speak about this we speak about the privilege of being miyoshway base madrish having a the torah about shabbos which is remarkably vague which you know we've touched upon in shabbos and we'll touch upon again significantly in meseka's aravind a person shouldn't leave their place on the seventh day on shabbos so yes in the gomorrah one says it's one says it's but certainly the simple masares of how we read this this this passage is that a person shouldn't leave their place on shabbos shabbos is a time where we define poem where we define where our root where our anchor is and for that anchor to be in the world of torah for that anchor to be in the vasa medvish you know this comes across as well in the beautiful tephilo which we say is part of the scene which is we say make the words of torah sweet in our mouths in the mouths of our children and of our children's children and we should all be yodesh this is reminiscent of the gemara bhavamitsiya where the gemara says that the torah says the passage says the torah won't leave your mouth the mouth of your children or of your children's children amar hashem hashem says from here and forever and the gemara says once one merits to have themselves and their children and their children's children studying torah from then on it is assured why because the torah returns allah to its accepted host to its home to establish generations of torah means that our home becomes a home for torah the prayer of the seom is it's that longing it's that we're connected to the torah that we don't want to leave it we look back on it longingly whenever we pull away from it and we hope that it looks to us longingly in the same in very much the same way the aldaf project is a crown jewel for the orthodox union to be able to play a role as aldaf has quickly assumed in the torah study of thousands of tens of thousands to create that home that community of learners those who are using it for the daphaomi and the growing population of people using it simply as a resource for the learning of gemara this is what we're all about to strengthen the torah and to strengthen our community of learners around the torah we hope and we are working that this is something that we're just going to continue to build upon to make aldaf itself that much more of a home for you for each and every one of you in the resources that it provides you for your learning to be able to enhance your sense of connection to the torah that you're learning and with hashem's help to work to branch out to other areas of torah learning to enlarge the community of joshua madrish of people who as they spend so much we spend so much of our time so much of our days wandering out into different pursuits we know we're our macomb we know where our home we know where our anchor is in the base in the world of torah study in the world that anchors our values and ultimately we hope will anchor the personalities of ourselves of our children and of our children's children to each and every one of you on achieving the seal you have a lot to look forward to with museven once intimidating but now with the remarkable resources created and developed by rabbi moshe and the aldaf team so much that will make it accessible and a pleasure and we hope hashem that we should continue as a community as a community learning together raising the banner of torah raising the role of torah in our lives the same way we have the privilege to conclude this with safta may we
