Life's
life for you to join along.
Life's
life for you to join along.
Wait, do you see me now? Oh, okay.
Right. Here we go. Yeah. All right. One
more time. One more time.
What's up, everybody?
We are here. Good
on tonight. What a day. Uh the stream
was going to be yesterday, but uh long
story short, uh I we had a very packed
schedule today in school. So as a
program director, I had to
set up
um all the programs for today uh with uh
obviously with the collaboration with
other staff and teachers, but still it
was like a crazy night. Um, and that
included uh staying up till about two to
about till 3 in the morning and then I'm
going to sleep and then boom, there's a
noise going around and it's basically
bakim dancing because they're going for
your which is great but for me not
getting a lot of sleep and needed to get
my head straight for um for
uh for for today.
But finally, and that's also why the
stream is late today because I've been
getting out of sleep and I knew that if
I was a lot of times you see me tire on
stream. It's usually if because I'm
sleep deprived and when you're sitting
down in a chair for two or three hours,
it is tends to
Excuse me. I just ate supper. So, excuse
me. But yeah, it tends to get very
tiring. But uh finally we're doing this
on yuchvat night late at night cuz I had
to take a nap cuz it was the only way
the stream was going to be possible. But
here we are late. Yeah. Originally I I
scheduled it for 8:00 but uh it's fine.
We're doing this.
All right. Um before we continue, I do
want to mention that every Sunday we
have our live we have our reactions.
Uh this past uh reaction we uh reacted
to Reena and Hayom. I think that's the
song. Uh the mashup from Siler
Marashiro. You check that out. Every
Tuesdays we have our live streams.
Today's Wednesday, but um typically it's
on Tuesdays
and every Thursday we have our Pius
podcast which been slow recently but
because of
winter vacation
but yes we have episodes about to be
ready to go. They're just in the editing
process and they'll be out soon. So stay
tuned for that. We also have
um every day we have some other video
coming out whether it's a short, a
video, something coming out every day.
Um also I would like to say that the
other day um I started Instagram after
the summer cuz I was focused on YouTube
for a while and then eventually I went
on
uh
uh Instagram and Tik Tok just to post.
I'm not I'm not on it. I don't use it. I
just post the stuff on it and
um it in in Tik Tok hasn't been really
done anything really. I just post and
see. But Instagram has done a lot. Um I
just saw a short that I put up of me
singing a gig and it got 5,000 views.
5,000
views. And I was shocked.
And the first thing I was thinking like,
wow, thank you Hashem for like making it
possible that people are just getting
involved with the content and it's
great. It's a braha and and obviously I
don't get a lot of views or or
interaction from people uh in these
things, but that's not the point. The
point is just do some fun stuff that I
enjoy that I love doing. Hey, how you
doing?
Yeah, the one person the janitor in MT
isue. But anyway,
uh yeah, and it's uh it's great and
thank you guys for all the support and
every time like like there's people
writing on the chats and joining us from
from beginning to end of the streams.
Those are and and and it's amazing. Like
it's it's truly amazing the fact that
people are just sitting around listening
and watching uh Jewish music and talking
about it, enjoying it. And that's what
it's really all about these live
streams. Um and having fun with them, of
course. Having fun with them.
Of course. Of course. Of course. Yeah.
So, um we're going to be watching. Uh we
had a poll.
Uh, let me let me actually pull up that
poll actually. Let me see. Let me pull
up that poll over here.
Um,
I usually put on
here. Let me actually share my screen
right now.
Um,
share screen.
Yep.
All right. So, you can see here when you
go into my channel,
there's home, there's videos, there's
shorts, there's live playlist, and post.
When you go to post, that's usually my
updates, but also it has my uh polls
that I put up on uh concerts and stuff
that I would want to watch. Typically, I
use these polls for when I'm just up for
anything. Uh, we recently went through
all the HA concerts. So, um, um, and I
didn't see actually the most recent H. I
I still have to get the footage or
something or some find a way to still
get it there. But anyway, uh, yeah. So,
the poll won there was this uh, a bunch
of singers in one place. Uh, the Aliyah
concert, the kumis of Benjamin Ali
Marcus and Wilhurker and Benny Free
Michel Lemer's Aliyia concert one. So,
we'll be doing that and that's going to
be fun. It's going to be fun. Um,
obviously there's concerts out there
with Shan Lemer and Betty Freeman and uh
uh and we reacted to it on the channel,
but uh nevertheless uh people want it.
People want it um out of the option. So,
we're going to do that. We are going
Oh, you're seeing what I'm doing. I'm
just sharing the the link with some
people
so that they could see it. But yeah, um
we're gonna watch this concert. Uh
throughout the concert, um if you could
write on the chat your comments, your
questions, or just a shout out, I'll
give you guys a shout out throughout the
stream in between the segments and the
singers. And uh also have some fun with
them and it'll be great.
That will be great.
Um, for some reason it's not going
through. Anyway,
all right. Okay, fine. Let's get into
some of the chat out there. First one.
Zman9607.
Hey, when are you singing at a wedding?
When am I singing at a wedding? Uh, when
someone hires me. Just simply how it is.
Um, I'm I'm not sure if you're just
asking like like are you specifically
asking about a certain time or you
asking specifically like in general? In
general when I'm hired to do so. But
yeah, I do weddings, bar mitzvah. I did
some neighborhood parties, just comees.
Those are fun. Uh, we also talked about
that on on the stream also.
Okay,
so we're going to be doing this
Uh, let's do this. All right, let's get
into this concert
over here.
Let's pull them up. Perfect. Aliyah
concert.
Checking the settings
so we have the best quality. And let's
skip to the singing.
Here we go.
Skip back a little bit just in case. Oh,
yeah. Let's go back.
There we go. All right. A timer in a A
timer of a
>> The show goes on.
>> Nice.
A timer on a Jewish concert actually
starts on time. That's pretty
uh rare.
Um, by the way, I don't know which
orchestra this is, but
it's going to be cool.
Liking it. Like the buildup. How are
some of these concerts? Like, by the
way, I was talking to my to my uh who
was I talking about it with the other
day how like it's sad how nowadays a lot
of
uh belist uh belist uh concerts are much
better than the uh A-list concerts like
the house concerts. And it's just sad.
Oh my
know
B.
Yeah.
Yum.
There's a fly in here.
What's all this gun?
It's great. I love it. It's fitting for
each. Look at that.
Oh.
Hey.
Oo.
Hey. Va
vigo
volcum.
But
I don't know.
Boom. Boom.
Nice. That was pretty good. Pretty good.
Simple, but nice and smooth and upbeat.
So far so good.
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
Lord
know
yama
switch from yes to yama. That's pretty
funny.
Boom.
Yeah.
Sorry, I had a little cold.
Ooh.
Hey.
Oh.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Boom.
My yama.
My
mother
know.
Oh. Woah. Woah. Oh,
>> that sounds better.
>> It's really high.
Oh yeah.
>> Nice.
A little rough at towards the end, but
it was pretty good. Pretty good.
>> Welcome. Welcome.
Thank you for singing along. Thank you
for clapping along and dancing.
I want to do a song with everyone here
tonight and everyone tuning in in your
living rooms.
We know
going through something difficult
is made even more difficult when you
have to go through it alone.
And we thank Hashem for aliyah
because with aliyah
no Jew is ever alone.
It's going to be like I have a freed
song probably
is
I can't really tell.
probably be a useful. Oh, Gar Fat.
Yeah, I met him over Hanukkah. Great
guy. Great dude
in a room that feels empty.
Sitting all alone
with just two candles.
>> What song is this?
silent hopes and whispered prayers.
>> He's also looking at words
yet.
Is
>> that Joey Nukem song? I don't know this
song.
>> Sounds so familiar.
tear they have
it up, but they know they're not in this
alone.
I know this song.
>> What's it called? I have to look it up.
>> Holding your hand.
And together it's a crying.
Our tears will be carried right up to
>> Hold on tight. Oh, there you go. Okay.
Got it. Got it. Got it. Hoping together
for just one more day.
Hold on tight
>> for just a bit longer.
Our cries our words feel
he won't
turn away.
>> That's the song. That's pretty cool.
In a world that feels empty,
we languishing
dollars
with only our face
of glow.
Our
silent hopes and whisper prayers
echoing
painfully.
The dream in our hearts yet to grow. Yet
to grow.
Imagined it so many times
for that day.
A home of our own. Home of our own.
>> Every tear we have done all there is to
do. But we know we're not in this alone.
>> I know that it's hard to keep waiting.
>> So I'll be here with you,
>> holding your hand.
And together
our cries will be stronger. Our tears
will be carried
right up to our chest.
>> So let's keep on waiting together
>> together
hoping together
>> for just one more day.
Hold on tight for just a bit longer. Our
cries our belo.
He won't
He won't turn away.
Nice.
>> Ladies and gentlemen, at this time it is
my high honor
to welcome to the stage Shulm Leur.
>> Yeah.
Good evening everyone.
Thank you.
Let me tell you something like this.
>> I don't know this song. Oh, wait. Why
did Betty leave?
>> Together we will all join our hearts in
unity.
Love will help you to be brave. Rushing
in just like the waves. You don't have
to be afraid. When we all believe,
you and I are one.
And wherever we're from, we all shine
under the same sun. Love could never be
wrong.
And it helps us be strong as we face the
unknown.
All I know of this song is like you and
I are one. That's the only part of the
song I know. Pretty good.
You can call me brother.
Come to me and me. And I know that
you'll be there if ever it will me.
Love will cross an ocean deeper than the
sea.
It's possible we'll make
impossibilities.
Love will help you to be brave. Rushing
in just like the waves. You don't have
to be afraid when we all believe.
You and I belong.
>> And wherever we're from,
we'll shine under the same sun. Love
could never be wrong.
And it helps us be strong as we face the
unknown
like a shadow. Now that the sun's going
down, love still follows us around. And
I hope it always win. It's a matter of
faith. Just imagine a place where hate
has been erased. It's not
if you try.
>> Oh,
you and I
>> are one. And wherever we're from, we'll
shine under the same sun. Love could
never be wrong.
And it helps us be strong as we face the
unknown.
and we and I are one.
>> And wherever we're from, we all shine
under the same sun. Love could never be
wrong.
And it helps us be strong
as we face
the unknown.
Woo!
Oh,
thank you. Thank you. Good evening,
everyone. Thank you for clapping along.
Thank you for singing along.
I chose this song. We all chose this
song to as my first song because it
really encompasses what aliyah does. No
matter what our differences, no matter
what we are
and let's raise all together and be not
only does not not only
in the best possible way
and uh it's a beautiful thing to see. As
I was sitting at the table, this young
gentleman asked me so we going to do

So, here's a song for you. It's not all
the way.
>> All right,
let's see what this is.
I am

Is this like a old Kazanas piece?

but I'm not sure.

review. When is a good time?
When is a good time? Anytime.
Short vid, 1 minute 30 seconds. So, send
it to me. Not send it to me. I mean,
post the link on the chat. I'll check it
and see if uh if it's good enough to
interrupt this concert to watch.
Yeah.
All right.
No more comments. All right. Let's
continue with this. So far,
interesting concerts. Interested.
See, we'll see. We'll see.
>> And now it's my pleasure to call Benny
back on stage.
>> Benny Freeman. Phenomenal.
Phenomenal.
>> All right, this niggan. We need
everybody to sing along. Are you ready?

That's not good.
Yeah. Let me
I'll just refresh the page.
See if that helps
everybody.
>> All right.
>> Oh, this is a while ago.
>> Every time we get together
as one big Jewish family,
it's another mitzvah. Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that's
a point.
Aha.
I the Holy Ghost.
Yeah, it's a fine.

Oh,
look.
Nice.
>> Welcome to Aliyah's celebration of 20
years of connection and growth.
First, I want to thank Hashem for
everything.
>> All right. All right. But before that,
we got to continue with the comments at
Moses Z8U8.
Hi,
how are you?
Uh 9607,
right? Yeah.
Right.
That's where I Okay, that's where I know
it from. Okay. Yeah. Okay, that makes
more sense.
All right, let's keep those comments
coming. I'm really I'm really liking it.
All right, let's skip around to the
music because that's what we really
want.
All right. No, that's me right there.
Said I would like to thank Mishi for the
opportunity to speak tonight. It means a
lot to me.
And oh, by the way, before I forget, the
dollar that Mishi gave me was a dollar
given to him directly from the Reba.
Thank you.
>> Feel like I missed something.
All right,
let's get doing Let's get to this. Let's
get to music.
Is there like a mic in the crowd or
something?
Is this Akiva song?
>> Wait, this is Kahan.
Um, what is it?
No. What is it called?

Email it to me.
Give me a second here.
All right. See if you can send me
through my email.
Uh, chat is slow. Yeah, chat is slow.
Where are you guys? We want you guys.
Where are you? Is it past your bedtime?
Oh. Uh, my It's my bedtime. Oh, what's
the uh my mother said it's my bedtime.
What bedtime? You're an adult.
Yeah. Uh, keep the comments going
though. I really want to get into
conversations about music or just to
give you a shout out for everyone that's
watching. All right, let's continue
here.
>> Favorite songs, but it happens to be a
Benny Freriedman song. So, Benny, may I
sing it?
>> You allow me? Okay,
let's see.
Don't judge me. This is a judgment free
zone, right?
>> Betty free zone. This is what Aliyah is
all about.
my friends
in times like this.
>> It's hard to see past the insanity.
>> It's pretty high key also. So that's
going to be cool.

found.
>> Who can even make sense of tomorrow
>> when our dreams keep crashing to the
ground?
And yet
as we rise to greet another day.
>> And the sun is still bright in the sky.
Always a reason to hope for better
times.
Though it seems
like the answers world away,
>> we've got enough. Just enough to keep us
going.
>> Holding on to unbroken simple

is our strengthen

has a plan and that's all it takes to
make it through.
>> His heart loves him. That's what a year
holds on to.
>> There we go.
>> Get away.
Skies went dark, crowds dispersed
on the streets that were once filled
with light.
But a brilliant light emerged from deep
inside our hearts.
And still,
but our prayers rang through our own.
Instead of looking out for inspiration,
we dug deep and found strength we'd
never known. And one more time
we will rise to greet another day.
>> We're every moment more precious than
ever.
>> And life sweetest little joys, they are
the treasure. Cuz when it seems
like the answer runs away,
>> we've got enough more than enough to
keep us going. We're holding on to
unbroken simple

that
and it's all it takes to make it through

to.

>> It's nice that they continue doing this

>> That's what it is.
>> And all of us didn't hold on to.
>> This is another beautiful song now that
I want to sing in Hebrew
>> and is a
to our children.
>> Keep the comments going. I want Give you
guys a shout out. Answer your questions
between the songs. Come on. Come on.
Keep them coming.
>> It's not about us. It's about the next
generation.
>> Our children is not just about our
children. It's about what their children
will be and so on to the next the next
generation. So that's why we dive in for
our children.
They're using a pre-recorded
soundtrack from the albums.
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
just again. Again.
Why do they keep doing this?
Why are they doing this?
There's absolutely no reason why you
have to. We We're in almost an hour into
this video, into this concert.
You have a fullon orchestra behind you.
Gel Fries is so talented
and so is everyone in his in in the
orchestra with him right now. And you
have to use pre-recorded
soundtracks from the albums. Why? Just
tell me why.
Look, let Okay, if I'm in a gig, okay,
and the only thing that I'm able to do
in the gig is no orchestra, whatever.
So, I use soundtracks from from from
karaoke, fine.
But first of all, you have to make it
clear to whoever is there and organizers
that you're doing so because it's not
fair if people come for a concert and
it's all pre-recorded soundtracks.
But it's even worse when you have an
orchestra behind you.
I'm so frustrated. I'm just so
frustrated.
People hired you because you are what
gives them money. People hire you
because you are what you your brand is
what's getting people to fund raise and
and and put in money for you. And the
best you can do is get just
when this keeps happening at every
reaction that we do with concerts, it
gets worse and worse for me. I get more
angrier and angrier because how come is
it that it's every single concert?
And by the way, I I'm not going to say
names, but I've spoken to people,
singers, organizers, producers,
orchestra people,
and they give me reasons here and there.
Oh, because the singers need like a
perfect soundtrack or they need a
perfect pitch. D,
you have an entire 10piece orchestra
behind you.
Like, what are you thinking?
Might as well just fire the whole
orchestra and bring out a guitar. And
that's all I want. It's better than
this.
All right,
let's continue.
Let's continue. Let's get over it.
I'm not enjoying myself.
It's such a good song. It's one of the
best Kamear songs out there. Everyone
loves it. And you have to ruin it.
>> Just because you think we're so
oblivious.
You have a whole orchestra behind you.
Let them play it. Why are you using
pre-recorded soundtracks?
Like, I'm not even interested to listen
to the song right now. I'm going to let
it play and get myself a cup of water.
When I come back, the song will be over.
Come on.
I bet
You blame me.
Fore!
Foreign! Foreign!
What I miss, huh? What I miss?
He has an amazing voice, an amazing
orchestra, and they can't just do this
purely wine.
Oh, I call him.
Let's get the comments.
Uh, love the authenticity.
Yeah. Like, yeah, like Scholm is great.
Gerson's great.
So, why use a soundtrack from an album?
What's the authenticity there?
Uh it's alma 9607.
The song is too a bit too heavy for task
any song to sing it. The heart is too
open in it to fake it or to perform it.
My problem is not the singers.
The singers are singing
great.
My problem is the producers that allow
this to happen. My problem is any even
if the singer himself makes the decision
to put the soundtrack of the album, even
if the orchestra is just adding beats or
adding instruments into it, you have a
10piece band behind you. Why can't they
just play?
Why can't they just play it? Simple as
that.
Again, I have done soundtracks from
albums before on on gigs, but those are
circumstances where let's say there was
no singer to play with where they're not
where there's not I'm not paying they're
not there's not enough money to hire
someone
or that the standard is understood that
yeah, you're playing soundtracks
recorded fine,
but you have a 10piece band behind you.
Uh NBC karaoke first short. That's a
clip.
Uh let me see.
Karaoke.
Let's see.
Um, I guess we could check it out.
Get away from that concert for a second.
Why not?
for
our
Like he's singing very nicely and all
that, but why am I just
finding it so funny of the kid in the
choir wearing
Cool. Cool. Cool.
Um, I don't recognize those three songs
by Voice Boy Squire, which makes me feel
terrible.
Um, but yeah, he's great. That's great.
It's cool to know also about that kid.
Um,
pretty cool. Thank you. Thank you for
that.
It's cool. Joseph Water
Wart Wartlet Wartski. Wartellski.
The The older I get and these names just
got harder to pronounce.
All right, back to this concert. It's a
pet peeve of mine that I hate.
Like, it's just like why? Just why are
you doing this? Why? Why are you doing
this?
Uh, he's the kid in Si. Yeah, that's
what I said in the video. Yeah, it was
pretty cool.
Yeah,
yeah, it's a pretty cool song.
But when did that album come out? One
second. ESI
Sha Shales
Jrix. Let's see when it came out.
Here we go. Uh, Shalus one. Yeah, that
makes sense.
Uh, Shashalis one, it came out 1999. Oh,
okay. So, like a year or two after that
clip, those those clips. Yeah, makes
sense. Yeah. 1999. Oh, yeah.
Why do I need to search these up? You're
just answering all my questions. Great.
Thank you.
I
I'm just upset. I'm just upset that we
that we keep getting to this point of
the concerts where
I'm I'm just bummed out. And I hate
being bummed out about Jewish music
because like why should we?
All right,
let's continue
again.
A soundtrack from the albums.
Why?
I'm just so out of it.
Why?
Let's just play it. Like, why? Why keep
doing this?
Call
Fore!
Foreign! Foreign!
is
the Israel. for
me.
Naturally, when I'm just bummed out, I
just look into the song itself. Like,
why not? Composed by Utu Damari,
produced by Donny Gross, sung by many
people. If you're review, I'm telling
you right now,
>> I feel so bad for you three. The fact
that your song goes on a concert where
there's a 10piece band and they choose
to not perform it purely authentically
to do justice to the work you did.
>> They're giving you too much respect
because oh, like we have to only use
your soundtracks. No,
>> there's the album.
>> The concert is a whole different
atmosphere. It's a whole different vibe.
It's a whole different It's everything.
Okay, just stop doing this. All you're
doing is tarnishing yourselves from it.
Like, why? Just why?
Like there's no points.
Yeah.
Yeah. Who is this?
I'm sorry that I'm boring you guys out
because I'm just sitting here doing
nothing because I just can't get myself
to enjoy this when I know that they're
just not putting their 100% into it.
Like,
why am I interested? You know, like
seriously,
there's no point.
Uh, what's your top five changes you
would make to live concerts?
A, ban any soundtracks. It has to
authentically be uh played by the or an
orchestra. If you don't have an
orchestra, fine. But if you have an
orchestra, let them do their job.
They're talented. They know what they're
doing. Just let them play. You sing with
them.
Uh, another change that I would do, um,
five changes.
Gosh. Um,
uh,
that's one.
Uh second change that I'll probably do
is uh
it's tricky.
Uh another another thing I would change
um is not to be too generic.
I I was speaking to someone the other
day and I didn't really agree with him,
but he's saying like I I stopped going
to free concerts. And for me I'm like
what? What? Why? Why? Why? What? Like,
and this guy like is very resourceful.
He has connections. He could technically
go for very cheap or even not for free
or backstage, you know, like he he could
go anywhere. And he was saying that
because every concert I fre is the same.
I don't technically agree with that but
I see what he means
where
if you look back at the H concerts what
was amazing about those concert is that
every concert was different with a theme
with an interaction with a a atmosphere
and therefore it wasn't like just a
regular typical concert you would go to
right so one year you'll have a musical
another year you'll have a duet concert.
Another year you'll have uh
a lion theme, you know, like you had all
these different things
that change it up every year. So, if I
would change something as a producer, if
I'm say I'm producing the car, I say,
"Okay, what can I do different about
this concert?"
and not something different that I could
that I could put something in it to be
different, but what can I do with taking
a generic concert that people do love at
the same time, but also kind of change
the
the way we do it but not take away from
it. So like the H concert, they they had
this guy with a disco ball helmet.
Okay,
sure. But is that like adding to the
music to the singing? You're adding to
the crowd, sure, but not to the music
itself.
But yeah, um but yeah, just do something
different every concert. That's for
sure.
Um
that's two.
Wow, that's a tough one. Three more
things to change about live concerts.
Um
I I would
I I obviously there's a format that you
have to do with concerts but the best
live concerts by the way is when they
have a regular concert from A to Z what
they plan out whatever they do in the
concerts and then after the concert's
over they have like a kumzits where they
ask people requests to play songs or to
sing songs and and they kind of go on
the fly.
Um, and you rarely see that because of
timing, because of production, very
different reasons. But to let that be,
that would be great.
Um,
that's that's three. A fourth one would
be
h you it's a very broad question but a f
a fourth that's three a fourth thing I
would change
um
have the talking like in concerts and in
fundraisers they they have people
talking and stuff like that and like
talk about organization, stuff like
that. I would have the talking in
intermissions.
Like if, let's say, I'm at the
fundraiser, a concert,
and they're bringing out food for like
for the dinner part of it or they
they actually want to give the singers a
break.
But if there's a 4hour concert video and
three of the hours are talking, an hour
is the singing,
it's just a waste of time. And yes, I
know you you have to like relay the
message, but that you could do that
without a guy sitting there for 45
minutes talking about it. You know what
I'm saying?
But I think you find out less and less
now. So I I don't know if I would change
that. That's something to change. So I I
don't think I would count that. Two more
things to change about live concerts.
Uh,
I'm just trying to think if I was a
producer or like what would I do to make
that concert different and make that
like the standard of like, oh, this is
this is like what we're looking for for
a live Jewish concert.
Um,
trying to think, listen, I'm trying to
think of two more things. Uh
I think um
I you know here's one thing also
sometimes you'll find
the lyrics of songs popping up on the
screen
behind the singer, but not for every
song. Most times it's like graphics and
stuff, which are fine. That's cool. But
I'll tell you this,
I grew up with more concerts than
albums.
And
the one thing that I have a hard time
with is getting each word
by heart like like like knowing each
word by heart but knowing it perfectly
that like I don't mix up two words even
though it'll mean the same thing or
let's say with lash songs knowing the
nudes and knowing the words perfectly
even if I don't know the puzzles
if I come to like okay I'm like, if I
want to learn this song first, I'm going
to want to know where it goes by heart.
But not many people are in a luxury of
me of looking these things up
just logically. So, um I would say have
lyrics of the song in graphics style,
but play for every song, not just for
the ones that they have already from the
music video, so they just pop it up or
lyric video from YouTube. Every song,
play the lyrics on the board, on the
screen, and if you're watching live,
have that as a subtitle. Let people
learn these songs, these words.
I find myself that when I watch videos
or watch music videos or listen to
songs, when I see the words, I pay
attention to the words more than than
just knowing the message and that's it.
Because there's a lot, especially with
AB songs especially, there's a lot of
poetry that goes into those songs. So
to have like the lyrics shown as you
listen to the songs, that would be
great. That's a fourth thing. A fifth
thing got down to five
would be um
um
I think we find this with only the
famous composers like Yity Wner Yi Green
but we need more composers to sing on
stage like that. That's what they would
do with the house concerts. Barkate, my
shalofer,
all these composers that don't show up
on the concerts anymore.
And not necessarily do they perform.
Some of them did other jobs of the
concert, but they were involved with the
concert. Yeah, Malava was a producer and
conductor for a lot of concerts in the
back in the day. Now he's just doing the
albums and songs and singles.
I would say to have the composers even
if they're not well known
give them the recognition
in these concerts
like can you imagine if let's say Benny
Freeman said hey I'm going to have like
a kumzitz with a bunch of my producers
and and composers on the stage with me
that would be amazing and you're
highlighting oh this song that's your
song oh that's that's your song but we
seem to only do that for the big
composers like Yi again Yity Wner Yi
Greeny do it all the time sure but Like
what about other composers? What about
other producers? The ones that don't
have a brand but they need the same
recogn. They have the same credit as the
singers themselves. You know,
I would do that also.
There you go. Five things I would change
about life concerts.
Let's just review songs off the concert.
Um,
that'll be boring. I mean, it's not
boring. I mean, what I mean to say is
that's
we set this the concert this was voted.
We're going to watch it. We're going to
go through it. We're going to highlight
the highs and the lows because if we
just go off the concert just every time
we don't like it, then we're not going
to go anywhere because I do want to talk
about these issues or just talk about
what I enjoy about these concerts.
There's some things in here that I
actually liked about the concert and
then we're going down this downhill road
of my pet peeves. You know, I love
talking about these things, so there's
no need to just go off just because I
don't like one or two moments. Uh, let
the guys play. Yep. 100%. Uh, I would
play oldies more. Uh, five years ago, I
would have said the same thing. Uh, but
you see more and more that they are
doing a lot of tributes and medalleyies
and and singing the oldies also. Like
when you go to free concerts
now, like when you look back at free
concerts when he sings like five years
ago, he's probably mostly most likely
singing the newer songs. But now, like
even in Israeli concerts, like how many
times how much what percentage of the
songs in the concert singing the new
ones for the past 10 years even
10 20 years? 20 years maybe? Probably
half, but even 10. Alfred's been singing
for 40 years and in 90% of all his
concert the 90% of the concerts that he
sings he's singing like all the oldies
from the from the 80s and 90s
sorry the 90 the 90s and and and the
2000s
less lights it every concert is
different with lights my personal
opinion so it really doesn't really
depends um
I think what's funny is that the lights
standard into Jewish music probably
started from ambroid experience which is
funny. Uh more talking by performers as
well if they're in if they're
interesting background of songs personal
stories. that true, but I don't think it
should overpower the song. Like if we're
spending 10 minutes on unless it's
entertaining, but still
um yes, they do have to talk about I do
think they should talk about the songs,
give recognition, the composers,
producers, and all that, but the stamp
overpower the entire time of the
entirety of the song just to talk about
it. I wouldn't do that.
By the way, giving yourself a goal of
thinking of ideas every day is super
healthy for you. As you can see, it make
your brain work really hard and
originally,
how are you?
>> I'm just kidding. But yeah, it's true.
True. Uh, I would play different oldies
more. They play a lot of the same oldies
again and again. Um, that is also true.
Um,
what I love I do love the moments where
I get to a concert and I don't know the
song and I even more enjoy it when it's
songs that I don't know that's from the
oldies. Like sometimes when they David
sings songs that I don't know that he
that that he's singing. It's great. It's
good. Um,
what I came to realize is that it really
depends on the concert, the producers,
the audience on how they actually do it
or how they actually pick the songs.
But um I think the main ones with the
with all the fundraising ones that we
see online, yeah, they kind of repeat
the same oldies also. But if it's good
oldies, I'll take any day. Like when I
when I'm free sings um No Jew will be
left behind every time. I'm I never get
bored of it. Sure, keep going. Why not?
I love it. It's great.
Uh, what's the next concert you're going
to?
I want to go to the one in Pennsylvania,
especially when it's in tribute of my
cousin,
uh, Rabbit Well.
But,
um,
it's very hard for me to leave Florida,
especially when I have a second job.
Maybe next year when I'm more into the
music and uh and uh and all that.
That'll be great. Rank Silva Zmer NBC
ABD YBC123
ABD
with ABD.
But anyway, uh Rain Silva's Mr. NBC. I
don't know what ABD is, but it would be
Miami Boys Choir, then Silver Zmer. Oh,
and Oh, okay. Fine. Sorry about Okay,
fine. Um
NBC and Silver Emma are kind of in the
same level for me, but I'm going to play
NBC NBC more just because I grew up with
them more and it's more nostalgia for
me.
Um and then YBC. My problem with Yeshua
Boys Choir is it's fine. Sure. It's like
I grew up thinking it was too fate, but
now we see like other singers and other
producers and other songs out there
like, "Boy, we really dropped the ball
every time."
But um the problem I have with the boys
choir is that they don't do harmonies
and if they do, it's like slight here
and there and to add moments. But
the yeshiva boy choir and silver zmer
they were so rich in the fact that they
would spend so much time on not just
singing the basic and and that's it.
They would spend time on the aura of the
song harmonies low harmonies high
harmonies
background like like like there's
they're so rich in vocals
and that's amazing and I think that's
why I like that. What's your top NBC
albums?
Oo, that's a tough one
for It's funny because I didn't
necessarily grow up with the the Miami
Boy Choir as albums. I kind of grew up
with them with the concerts and songs
itself.
So, if I'm going to rank an album, not a
con, aside from the concerts, I'll tell
you this.
Most songs I end up listening to usually
come from
uh Standup
and it's Min Shamay. And which one would
I pick from those? It's Min Shamay. But
it's not because it's my favorite. It's
just mostly because the songs that I
typically enjoy or listen to more often
is from that album. But there's other
great classics from other albums I like
more than the than the songs in that
album.
But yeah, just out of out of just what I
end up listening to a lot. Uh I I
recently got into um
listening to very often. Uh
what's that song uh from Voice? Uh I
just listen to our repeats, but
Oh. Hashem cafe. Hashem cafe. I really
got into that song like on repeat for
recently. So that's great.
My back is itchy. Uh when do you listen
to music? Walking, driving.
Um
mostly driving. Mostly driving because
uh usually if I have any time I I'm
usually working on the channel and
singing and working. Uh but working also
when I'm working on my my office I'll
just have soft music playing.
Walking
walking is annoying like it only if it's
like at night it's empty
for me walking during the day with cars
driving by and people
it's kind of disorienting to listen to
music and enjoy the music when you're
walking and stuff like that you know. So
if I'm walking, I would typically listen
to a podcast or or or sharim
or just people talking. Um but driving.
Yeah. What's your second job? This is my
second job. I mainly work in LC as a
program director, which is why I push
off the stream from yesterday because I
was working on today programs.
Um
but uh yeah, that's my other job.
All right, let's get back now. I'm fully
calm. Anger's all out. Thanks for the
comment. Thank you, Zmen. Keep the
comments coming. I really want to give
you guys a shout out and answer your
questions in between the songs, but we
got to get back to the concert. Now I'm
good. Now I'm calm.
Let's do this.
Let's do something good, please.
Something good.
Don't worry about it.
All right, let's get to the music.
To the music.

That's all we're asking. Just be
original. Just be authentic. Have your
good, talented band play your music.
So upset.
Uh, do you like living in Florida? Yeah.
Yeah, it's very good. Tara has MBD.
Yeah. Yeah. Uh, if they put the lyrics
up on all the songs, it's going to kill
a lot of people's lyrics that they sing
with now.
Not sure what you mean.
>> How are you?
>> Not sure what that meant, but okay. Um,
but I don't see why that would be a
problem. Uh, what's your favorite
instrument to hear in a song? Trumpets.
We don't get enough of them. I keep
saying this all the time.
When's the last modern day song that you
heard that played trumpets?
You know, where did the trumpets go?
Uh, when are you when are you
interviewing?
I did get in touch with very nice guy.
Uh, he unfortunately declined, but uh,
I just have to get in touch with them. I
don't know how to get in touch with

Um, my favorite like weird situation
that Jonno gets into is the one where he

he's Jewish. That's like one of the
things I'll always remember. One that
that's an episode I'll remember also.
But my favorite is the Noser though.
That's a good deal.

We were just in a streak till now. Come

So, keep them coming. Keep them coming.
I'm just going to skip till we get to

Here we go.
Well, what an honor and pleasure to be
here tonight with you.
