Good evening and welcome to Parsha in
the Park. This week it's Parshas Vayeira
and Abraham is sitting in front of his
tent in the heat of the day waiting for
guests.
And why? Because he loved to do hesed,
he loved to do charity and righteous
acts and he loved to do
mitzvah of hachnasas orchim.
Means inviting guests.
And that's what he wanted to do.
And
we have another saying of Maaseh Avos
Siman Banim. That the actions of our
forefathers, the patriarchs of Avraham,
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
they are sort of a
a siman, a model
for
the generations of Jews.
And because Avraham
did certain acts like
um inviting guests, so that becomes the
DNA of Jews today. That they all want to
invite guests. Have people come over
for Shabbos meals and for festival
meals.
Maaseh Avos, actions of the fathers,
Siman Banim, and we all want to invite
our guests. And I desperately wanted to
invite guests. And Shem has been very
kind. I've had guests for
3 weeks already and I have guests again
this Shabbos.
And so we follow in the footsteps of the
patriarchs
and one of those is inviting guests.
This has been Parsha in the Park. Thanks
for watching.
