How to make your connections LAST

if you can Implement what I'm about to tell you on any level to some degree your relationships are going to be much better your relationship with God with Judaism with your spouse with your employer it's going to flourish and the Torah actually talks about the prosperity of relationships in the context of relationship with God the Torah says that if you follow my laws God's laws you're going to prosper you're going to prosper physically not just spiritually uh but but look at the I want to point out just the language that the Torah employs it says if you will walk in my laws or with my laws it doesn't say if you perform my laws if you do them it say if you walk with them in commentaries wonder what the significance of walking with God's laws is rather than just doing performing them as as it says in many other places this is an incredible paradigm shift God is saying that you're going to prosper but not if you do what I want you to do if you just check it off the list but if you walk with me if it becomes part of who you are it's not just a job it's an identity a job ends clock out but a relationship is 24/7 and if we walk with God if we treat God not as a job if we treat Judaism not as a job but as a relationship ship relationship's going to flourish if we treat a relationship as a job it might not flourish as much and the same is true in our interpersonal relationships as well if we treat our relationships as a job things that we need to just check off the list and get to when we get to that uh I mean we may not see Prosperity but if we see our relationship for what it actually is a real relationship it's actually real it's meaningful it's deep then it's going to prosper and the greatest indication that a relationship is being treated as a relationship not just treated as a job is if it's something you walk with it's something you carry with you wherever you go it's a badge of honor it's an identity something you walk with and not just perform try to be more genuine in your relationship your relationship with God your relationship with people and less of a performer teaching focuses a lot on authenticity and being genuine and RAB y yers once pointed out in one of his talks that what is the greatest indication of authenticity or being genuine in a relationship time management if you have good time management if you're accountable to your time that's an indication that you value the relationship in a very deep way and it's not just something you're trying to get out of the way if I'm a master of my time the more I can Master my time the more I can walk with the relationship treat it more as a relationship less as a job and that paradigm shift is going to make you thrive that's my story and I'm sticking to it
