Sorry.
>> We're here with his excellency Ahmed
al-Manssuri, my new friend, former
member of the Parliament of the UAE and
the owner and founder of the Incredible
Crossroads of Civilizations Museum here
in Dubai. Thank you for welcoming us
into your museum. Thank you for showing
us around. And all of it is
extraordinary. It tells the story of all
the world religions living in peace and
in harmony, being welcome in Dubai. But
in particular, the exhibit about the
Holocaust is so meaningful. We're living
in a time in which so many in the world
are denying the Holocaust, are refuting
the Holocaust, refusing to acknowledge
the Holocaust. And here in the heart of
Dubai in your museum is an exhibit about
the Holocaust. Thank you. Please tell us
how that came to be. Um the museum
reflects the culture of the country.
It's the culture of our people, vision
of our leadership is to respect everyone
and also to acknowledge everyone. So in
happiness and sorrow, we should you know
be together. And secondly u as you know
we have we welcome you from all
religious or nationalities here and this
museum the cross of civilization it's an
acknowledgement the of the importance
and the beauty of each civilization of
each different religions and different
cultures and you know and how we share
universal values within this. So we are
highlighting in the museum the old good
days the days of the golden ages the
days where where people were together
when the Jews and the Christians and
Muslims were together working together
and uh we believe that you know whenever
there is peace with the peace comes
stability with stability comes
prosperity and then and when the
prosperity prevails you know everyone
will will excel. So in order to reach
that you know uh the museum reflects the
culture of the country the values of the
United Arab Emirates the value of you
know we have to respect everyone and how
to make sure everyone can be welcomed as
they are they don't have to change
>> and the museum has the support of the
government and of the leader I know this
space was given to you to host the
museum
>> yeah I was invited to this royal house
to uh to get to make the museum here
because they said you know it protects
the cult of the country and also they
give me two more houses to continue this
journey And and that's the beauty you
know that you know uh and that it is the
first museum uh that really reflects all
civilization not only this the culture
or the history or heritage of the
country reflects all. And
>> I saw in the exhibit on the holocaust
that his excellency spoke in Avitz.
>> Yeah.
>> I saw his excellency was there with a
Holocaust survivor. There's a beautiful
picture of you giving a kiss on the head
of the Holocaust survivor. What was that
like being in Avitz with a survivor?
It was very touchy moment and I loved
his speech. He was very vocal, very and
he explained what happened there clearly
and also for us in our culture seniority
comes with age and he's an elder person.
So whenever we meet someone older than
us, we kiss their head and he deserve it
because he's a hero. He's someone who
survived and also helping in preventing
such thing to happen again. So and we
learn from him. So when someone teaches
you something, you have to honor the
person and also when they older, you
have to kiss their head.
>> Amazing. Thank you for hosting us. Thank
you for this museum. Thank you for your
efforts and we hope that it gets
exported from the UAE around the world
that we can all experience not only the
coexistence, the harmony, the mutual
respect to recognize each other's
histories, to learn from it, and to be
able to forge a more beautiful. It's our
duty and our honor to be part of it.
Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you.
Thanks.
