hi everyone its rabbi Goldberg this is
not advert or it's not a shear it's a
quick personal message from my heart to
yours first of all I want to tell you
how much I miss you how much we all miss
you we miss being together we long for
when every seat in the sanctuary will be
full once again it's been so hard not to
see your faces not to hug you shake your
hand not to look into your eye and not
to hear about how well you and your
family are doing but know we care about
you we have an incredibly large Shore
very blessed but it makes it hard to be
in touch with everyone the rabbi's are
doing the best that we can and we
appreciate your patience we appreciate
your confidence and your trust I promise
you we're working from morning to night
putting together our classes and our
programs and our activities answering
your questions putting together policies
and procedures trying to communicate as
best that we can and we appreciate your
understanding I wanted to just share
with you first of all thank you to our
incredible task force who worked very
hard very special thank you to rob I'm a
squid sorry dr. David Shabtai who've
been helping guide our policies and
procedures as we've been trying to
navigate what our unchartered waters and
territory this is unprecedented we're
doing the best that we can to both keep
us safe but reasonably re-enter and
begin to relive our lives and I know
it's not happening at the pace and it's
not happening in the way that everybody
wants or agrees but we're doing the best
that we can we have what we think are
our greatest experts and medicine and
science our post-game who shoulder we
lean on regularly and they are informing
everything we take every decision with
great deliberation analysis so seriously
because we understand it's impacting
your life seriously and therefore we
don't take it lightly I want to thank
everyone for complying for working
together it's so largely responsible for
why our community thus far has thank God
been so safe and spared because we've
all been so compliant and so careful and
now is not a time to let up even though
we are beginning to reopen and beginning
to be able to spend time and beginning
to relive our lives but there are so
many factors that work for every
decision that we make and so we've
reconvened Avenue at the shul and not
everyone can come and that breaks our
hearts we know it's painful for you and
we wish we could accommodate you but
there's not only the concern of the
contagion of a virus which could
compromise the vulnerable population by
age or by illness but rather there's the
heat the humidity as someone who's been
dominating for just a couple days
outside with the mask I can promise you
I'm drenched by the end of Davin I just
this past weekend and all the
remember someone passed out because they
spent a little time outside they had to
be revived and they were brought to the
hospital if you're not confident you can
handle the heat the humidity and with a
mask the challenge of being able to
breathe our rabbi's tell us God wants
you to davon inside God wants you to
davon alone in a way you only be healthy
then in a way that God forbid you could
fall and crack your head and so we're
doing the best we can we know not
everybody agrees we're not trying to
deprive you or deny you of your autonomy
your decision-making your freewill no
one is trying to impose upon you but we
are a community we always have been and
we always will be and our health our
wellness our destiny we are all
interlocked with one another and if one
group acts our responsibly it can
compromise another and so again I
appreciate please understand that we're
simply doing the best that we can
these manana mark at the show couldn't
happen without the great leadership of
david berger moshe kamenetsky to whom
are so indebted it's been such a smooth
and seamless transition over cheveux us
because we can't handle the numbers will
be creating neighborhood manana me you
received an email it has a link please
go visit your neighborhood sign up if
you're eligible to participate
almost every block and every development
there are captains and sub captains
we're trying to put together something
that we never have never thought we
would ever have to before and again only
because our incredible volunteers who've
been working selflessly and tirelessly
please God will we pull this off we
don't believe we should be reading the
Torah outdoors our post-game have told
us it's not proper honor and respect to
the Torah and moreover that heat that
humidity can compromise the kosher
status of the Torah we will not be using
shul tourists and none of the BRS rabbis
will be participating in a minyan well
we'd be hearing the Torah and we ask you
to to honor as well we know some people
own a private Torah and no one can stop
you if you're going to read it but
please do so safely the same person
should do hug bugga lila read all five
alleys and get all get all five Leah's
and not share a Torah with anyone else
if you're choosing to go that direction
though again if anyone asks the shools
policy is not to lane at this time we're
trying to minimize the time we're
together in those men Yanam and
therefore we're starting at knishmas and
making our way through reading the part
reading the Torah reading in the
haftorah and the Megillah at home if
there's enough at the end of a minyan to
say yes go please by all means say yes
go and if not there's nothing wrong with
saying yes occur at home there's no
sanghyeon our own though there will be a
year's curry mail that includes a year
score sermon and as well as some of the
dialing the of years care to be able to
get some of the flavor of your score
together even if we can't be together I
know this particular population who are
hurting who want to be able to be
welcome back to come together to convene
and please know our heart aches it hurts
that you're not with us at this time you
are the ones we turn to and learn from
you are the best Davin errs and you are
the ones who've lived life lessons and
your faith is contagious to all of us we
wish and we long for when we will be
able to be together but it's not just
about the virus and dangers it's not
just about your willingness to go out to
a supermarket to a doctor or elsewhere
it's about being outdoors under
something organized by us the community
the shul the risk of dehydration the
heat the humidity a mask and simply not
a risk that our experts feel that we
should be taking at this time and we
thank you for your sacrifice for your
compromise if your willingness to try to
keep everyone collectively safe safe and
we long for hopefully please God soon
when we'll all be together filling the
seats of the sanctuary arm and arm
hand-in-hand voice in voice singing
davon dancing loving one another as we
do as a community thank you thank you my
dear BRS family for your compliance
until this time it has gone so far in
keeping us safe and as much as we are
beginning to incrementally come back and
we won't be excessively stringent but
we're listening to our task force and
our experts and we're trying to simply
keep everyone safe thank you for your
continued compliance and I hope and I
pray and I bless all of us that in the
spirit of our commitment towards one
another and a willingness to even
compromise in areas or ways that we wish
we didn't have to that indeed we'll all
be safe and sound and secure that please
God we'll come together as a family as
in a community speedily should have a
good yontiff or hexameric
we should be zoca we should merit to be
Makabe the torah to receive the Torah
but simcha with joy with love and with
unity as a community and to celebrate
sometime very soon together thank you
and have a good yontif
