A Bank Full of Cherries | Rabbi Binyomin Pruzansky

There was a young boy living in Yerushalayim, whose mother asked him to go buy some fruits at the fruit store. He goes shopping, he doesn't have much money on him. He comes into the fruit store, he's looking around, and then he spots the cherries. Oh, does he want those cherries. They look so delicious. But he looks at the price, and there's no way that he could afford those cherries, he doesn't have money for that. All he could afford is some carrots and cucumbers. But he's eyeing the cherries. The owner of the store sees him staring at the cherries, and he says to the young boy, you know, boy, take some! Don't worry about it. He says, I don't have money. He says, Don't worry, take some. I let you take. And the boy looks away and he says, no it’s okay. A few minutes later, he's looking again at the cherries and he's wishing he could have those cherries. And the owner comes again. He says, Little boy, take the cherries. He says, No, no, no, it's okay. A few minutes later, again, the boy, he's shopping around, but then he ends up by those cherries, he’s staring at them. And this time the owner comes over and he takes his hands and he grabs a bunch of cherries, he puts in the bag, and he says, Here, take it and go home. The boy takes the cherries. He runs home to his mother, and he tells Ma, let me tell you what happened. And he tells over the whole story. And his mother looks at him and she says, Yanky, I don't understand. Why didn’t you listen to the man at the first time when he told you, take some cherries yourself? He says, Ma, don't you know I have small fingers. I'm only seven years old. How many cherries would I get already? But the man has big hands. When he gave me cherries, oh, I got so many cherries I knew I'd get so much more from him. Said R’ Meilech Biderman, Ribono Shel Olam has big hands. We all want Brochos in our lives. How are we going to get those cherries in life? How are we going to get the פרנסה that we need? How are we going to get the Shidduch? How are we going to make it big? When we close our eyes from the things that Hashem asks us to look away from, then Hashem opens his big hands to deliver big time for us. We'll take those cherries. We'll take them home to the bank, we’ll be successful. Because we closed our eyes from things that we were asked to look away from. And Hashem opened the world just for us.
