there was a rabbi that lived in the
second or third Century this Rabbi that
I'm talking about is none other than
Rabbi MAA Ben harash what he's famous
for is his exceptional carefulness in sh
in watching his eyes and the story is
told that the Satan tried to test him
and the beautiful lady appeared in front
of him and he turned his head and then
she came to the other side and he
couldn't escape and he gouged his eyes
out with hot iron Combs Hashem
eventually guarantees him your eyesight
will come back and you'll never be
tempted again you've passed the test
he's buried in Northern Israel and the
books bring down that anybody that has a
struggled with their eyes whether it's
eyesight or whether it's macular so they
say go to the rabbi's Grave who Ted this
Mida and you pray and there'll be God
willing you know
salvations some of the good people in
our community came together and they
said let's locate this rabbi's grave
it's a great
item so they find it and it's all
dilapidated and it's really not
accessible as it should be and they said
you know what let's raise some money and
let's rebuild the rabbi's
grave the first time I visited the site
was about 5 years ago it was really all
inspiring such a holy Tanana with such a
history and a background at the time I
was having some eye pain Rabbi Mano gave
a class he mentioned the
MA's the Kev itself is on a hill so when
you're up there it's a panoramic view
there other people praying with a lot of
kavana it's such an all inspiring site
with so much more potential to be
beautified and expanded the space itself
was cramped there isn't much usable area
except for the steps themselves and
maybe a small area by the Kev itself
there's so much that can be done with
the site with right attention to the
right places it could be even more
inspiring than it is today and
accommodate more groups to visit
simultaneously So the plan is to expand
and to beautify the holy site the total
project course is around
$500,000 most of that course is going
towards leveling out the unusable slope
areas with concrete and towards building
retaining wols we're adding seeding
throughout the site we're adding shade
structures we're upgrading the area is
to light candles we're widening the
steps to enter and travel through the
site making them much safer especially
for larger groups of visitors we're aing
beautiful arched iron gates within and
around the perimeter of the site and
it's all nicely color-coordinated when
it all comes together it's going to be
spectacular it should really enhance
people's prayers and concentration it
was not at all a simple process to get
to the point where it is today ready for
construction it took 2 years just to get
the proper permits and then find the
right people to handle such a special
unique holy project ra Yuda Azad helped
a lot dealing with the Holy sight's
Authority he was instrumental in getting
us to where we are now ready for
construction we start to work with the
government we have a lot of problems and
after 2 years now we get permission to
fix this holy place and I'm start to
work on it and I hear so many miracles
that people get on this place also Rabbi
Raymond sultan advis me a lot he has a
good amount of experience doing things
of this nature dealing with is very
delicate in the olden times it wasn't
just one grave usually that's buried in
one area there's many people want to be
as close as they can such a great person
so when you deal with the ground and the
vicinity of a grave has to be done very
very very carefully it's a big the
people that can give a lot should give a
lot donations above $10,000 would be
acknowledged on site with permanent
plaques nonetheless anything you're able
to contribute is more than welcome and I
look forward to the completion of this
project and may the Z of the great sadik
be an advocate for all of us amen
