a good naira of Shabbos welcome back to
turn Friday into Arab Shabbos as we are
counting down to the arrival of Shabbos
I want to thank our generous sponsors
many supporters
that is the siren and we are ready to
welcome the holy the halika the amazing
the great the Fantastic Shabbos we can't
wait for the Shabbos we've been learning
Morgans turn on Shabbos is new safer on
Shabbos and he starts out somewhat
counter-intuitively that Arab Shabbos is
not Friday here Shabbos is not Wednesday
air of Shabbos is Shabbos and even those
who are strict to observant to
experience and to enjoy a beautiful mote
Shabbos we've been speaking a lot about
it but the beautiful idea to light mozai
shabba's candles from the havdala candle
and it is
to continue to wear our shabba's
clothing to feel and draw the light of
Shabbos and mozai Shabbos I've always
thought that mote Shabbos is a
continuation of shamas
escort the queen away and out in that
transition from Shabbos to mote Shabbos
Richard Meyer introduces us to a
different Paradigm of perspective
altogether and that is
the reason that we're trying to extract
and draw out and be transformed from the
Shabbos is to get us ready for next jobs
yes it's about the Shabbos that was but
was what it really was they can't change
the past the past is the past so the
Shabbos that we are coming out of we try
to extract from draw out from capture
and bottle and take that light and embed
it within us to be transformed and
different forever but the reason we're
doing that is not only to take it from
Shabbos to the weak but to prepare for
the Shabbos to come is
the more transformed we are the better
we are the more improved we are the
purer we are the more we're ready to be
a vessel to receive the light of the
Shabbos that is to come so essentially
essentially hevra all of our life is one
long process educational experience of
one shop is getting us ready for the
next job is making the next job is
better and Shabba should always be
compounding Shabba should always be
improving Shabba should always be
further elevating and enriching each
Shabbos we learn something about
ourselves and about Shabbos how to get
the most out of Shabbos how to sing how
to love how to laugh how to read how to
rest each Shabbos we find our menu we
find our Hebrew we find our routine we
find our rituals we find our symbols we
find our lavush and our Shabbos clothing
so that the next Shabbos were better and
it's a constant never-ending quest to
experience Shabbos more richly each and
every week and when one approaches that
Shabbos can never get dry or stale there
are people who are frustrated
particularly young people kids we went
through several years ago the whole half
Shabbos phenomenon where people maybe
are grow tired Chavez the same thing
each and every week Shabbos 39
categories of creative labor Allah
Shabbos do's and don'ts Shabbos is old
it's stale Shabbos is limiting it's
restrictive but that is the wrong way to
view Shabbos Shabbos each Shabbos is an
invitation each Shabbos is an
opportunity each Shabbos is a vacation
in a place of Refuge each Shabbos is
exciting each of us there's something
new and we learn it with the experience
that we find that little Nuance that
little detail that little can H and we
take it with us into that shop is to
come
is not just a conclusion and closure on
the Shabbos that was
much more fundamentally what it is is
the beginning of the preparation
when you have that big city or pizza
which I think are the Staples of a good
malava malka when you're enjoying some
leftover flies you're chilling from at
the malava malka it's not just about
reflecting on what was great about
shabba's sort of nostalgically but
you're reflecting on it to take with us
to the next Shabbos to carry us into the
weak to inform to inspire to elevate to
be able to experience and get the most
out
says by understanding and by bringing
this new paradigm this New Perspective
this new understanding
you know there there can be a letdown on
mozai Shabbos now the truth is sadly for
many people there's no letdown they're
excited they're counting down can't wait
to Shabbos is over get back on
technology get back into other clothing
get back doing other things but that's
sad Shabbos is so exciting and amazing
Shabbos was so true to who we are and
can have the most real relationships
with others with no interference
No Interruption no distractions we
should never want that to end who wants
that to end who wants a vacation to end
who wants to visit with children and
grandchildren to end Shabbos is all of
that we're spending time with our true
and our best selves on hashama which is
Sarah you don't want it to end so there
should be a certain letdown a certain
sense that I don't want to make Abdullah
I don't want to turn that device back on
I don't want to re-enter that world of
to-do's and task lists I simply want to
sit and sing and talk and read and rest
and dive in and Learn and Grow I want to
still live in this cocoon this place of
Refuge it's hard there's a letdown but
the way that we don't feel let down low
yipo the way to not fall says ravicha
Meyer is to recognize I'm not going down
this is a plateau and it's a stepping
stone to going up to take from this
Shabbos to the next
goal but without focused on the
hardships
and to become deter moment that I can
live throughout the week with the
feeling I had on Shabbos so it's not
that you know Shabbos is a high then
there's a big dip and a lull the whole
week it's a concession I gotta live that
week and then I get to go back to them I
get to go back to Shabbos it's what the
Shabbos teach me about myself that I can
live a new me this week what in
conversation with myself what in time
with myself often if on a Friday night
if I bring in and Chavez the Kiddush to
walk to places to go sometimes I'm with
people often I'm by myself and I'm never
by myself during the week always a phone
call to return always something to
listen to always sending to prepare
always some noise or engagement Shabbos
you're finally in conversation with
yourself you don't have to open the
magazine of the newspaper you can sit on
the couch and just think and just be and
go for a walk and you're in conversation
so we're having conversations we neglect
all week long and through those
conversations we learn about who we are
and that new version that breakthrough
that we have by spending that time
ourselves then we can carry that into
the week so the weeks don't blend
together they're not repeat one of
another every week is a new week because
every week is a new us and every week is
a new us because Shabbos we discovered
who we are a little bit more about the
real and the truest and the most
authentic versions of ourselves of
ourselves so we're able to tap into that
Shabbos is the place we go to learn and
then we take that learning about
ourselves about others about those
conversations about that laughter about
those stories and now we take that into
having a different type of week than the
week that we had before this is
don't feel darkness and confusion and
Chaos don't feel I got to go back to a
world of action and doing in tasks
uses that term if you're truly a Ben
Aliyah if you're a person who's always
looking to climb and grow Elevate
there's a letdown there's that natural
letdown what the vacation's almost over
the visit's almost over there's a
letdown it's a letdown okay
the soul is on fire the soul is loving
and living Shabbos
when that light when that high-speed
connection slows down when that light
becomes a little more hidden it's hard
for it not to be painful
um
it's not as a letdown not as a step back
but we see it as an opportunity for
growth as we see Moze Shabbos is when we
collect and gather and analyze and
consolidate all that we've learned to be
able to be a new and a better us and to
go into the weak then mozai Shabbos
doesn't have to be a dip it doesn't have
to be a letdown it's the beginning of
the next Shabbos it's not Moze Shabbos
it's air of Shabbos it's a new campaign
it's a new motto Saturday night's not
Moze Shabbos Saturday night is Arif
Shabbos totally different attitude a
totally different avoda it's a different
avoda with the scratches we could bring
an excitement and a freshness and a
newness and a brand of fire that Moze
Shabbos is not mozay Shabbos mozay
Shabbos is but the value of mozai
Shabbos is not in being mote Shabbos the
value of Moze Shabbos is the fact that
it's also Arab Shabbos so everybody get
ready here I come
public showers
coverage hours wishing everyone
