Rabbi Eliyahu Yaakov - Male-Female Dynamic: Part 2 - Male & Female in Me

thank you now that we've uncovered the male female Dynamic inherent in all things and we've seen a little bit about how it plays out in relationships before we go on I want to take us in another Direction here and really just focus in also how the truth is that we have we all have male and female within each of us right we're all dualistic we got right arm left arm we got right brain left brain right so we're going to talk a little bit about this to really show how male and female is actually included within each of us right and we're going to start in terms of the level of thought and also on the level of action right so here we go okay and by the way again just to remind us male is the concept of giving forth energy and potential female the concept of receiving that energy and actualizing it into something real right the ancient Traditions explain that the right side is the concept of male the left side is the concept of female and so from the top we see we have the concept of the right brain right brain is considered to be like holistic it's considered to be creative it's considered to be that burst of inspiration right um for example if you've ever seen a cartoon and you've seen the light bulb go up on top of the head of some cartoon character that is a right brain male powered moment right it's that burst of inspiration right it's just an idea and it's holistic it's the it's the idea in a grander kind of scale right but how is that idea going to be developed how's that going to play out how are we going to get to the details that's going to make that happen right that's left brain right left brain right brain is more of a Visionary left brain is the concept of the administrator of breaking things down right matter of fact in the ancient tradition of Cabela the truth is that that right brain that is the concept that represents a grander idea called is made up of the letters uh that that also make up the words which means a potential strength a potential idea it's an energy and potential basically like we've explained the male to be right but so it's this idea but then how does that idea get developed so then the left brain is representative of this feminine concept which is called in the ancient tradition of Kabbalah Bina Bina is from the Hebrew word which means to build because how how we have an initial burst of inspiration that idea it's awesome right imagine you have an idea to build a house that's great but where the FL how many floors is going to have and where's the staircase going to be and how many where am I put the bathroom how's the wiring going to work right the details the the building of that practically right this is the concept of left brain and again realize how this is male and female like we've spoken about before male is the concept of giving forth energy and potential female is the concept of receiving that energy and making it real again both of these are positive Powers we need both without both we have nothing and so therefore even within the person even within the guy themself or the girl the the or the gal themselves each one has the within them a certain concept of male a certain concept of female and of course again you need both to have anything and so this is the concept of the third level which is in the integration of the two right and this is if you wanted to represent it in the body this would be I think the part in the brain that attaches the right half and the left half right I think it's called the Corpus Colosseum or something along those lines so this is the connection between the two the concept of integration because without that you really don't have anything okay and so actually in the ancient tradition this is also called that is the same word that's used for a union for relationship because really it's the experiential coming together of two things into one right because really you need to be able to oscillate between the male side and the female side the energy and potential side with the Practical actualization side in order to really have something real but if we stop in the head we don't have anything real we might have a real plan we might have a blueprint but we haven't got anything to we haven't gotten to anything real we haven't been able to practically bring this out and for that we need to bring it down a notch right what would be probably represented by what would be represented by the right arm and the left arm right the right arm again is the concept of male in action right the fear the left arm is the concept of female in action in the ancient traditions this is the right arm is the concept of giving forth the left arm is the concept of receiving of taking in and also in a certain respect also of holding back but we're going to see don't think that right arm is good and left arm is bad or that male is good and female is bad because you don't like taking no we're going to see that these are both two parts of the story that you need both and they're both positive let me give you an example what often happens all right let me give you a cat a classic male female the issue right like so I give you a personal example weekly me and my wife host Shabbat dinners the idea is to bring people together to inspire and the way it works is we have two tables right and we have four people on each side of each table then we have one person in one head one percent of the other head right and so if you think about it right that's 18 people and so at first it's like okay this is great but you know me I like to have I want to have as many people as possible right so I say to my wife look it's awesome that we have 18 people a week this is great however if we put two people at the corners over here and we two two people at the corners over here guess what instead of 18 people per meal we can add 22 people for meal and you know what else if we take these two couches over here turn them on their side put them in the corner over there we can slide over these two tables put down another two tables sit 22 around that one too and now from 18 we've gone to 44 people for these wonderful inspirational meals how about it so at that point my wife says to me we could do that but if we do that we're going to turn this experience of an inspirational Shabbat meal into the experience of an uncomfortable soup kitchen right because this is classic male female Dynamic do you hear the idea what does the guy say and this and this is what we can all fall into okay guys what do I say expansion quantity numbers more great but my wife is seeing the quality of the situation what are we going to actually have here what is this actually going to be right and so the truth is you need both in order to have anything because the guy can easily go to that place of giving to the point that you undermine what you were giving for in the first place right and so therefore what it what he needs is to in a certain respect seal the deal close your circle in order to actually contain what you have and make something real out of it right and that is classic male female we can see how you can fall into that in all sorts of ways I mean this is classic Men Are from Mars Women Are from Venus kind of material right and this is we have to understand this though within ourselves because then once we understand this within ourselves once the gals understand what the guys in general bring to the table and the guys understand in general what the guys are bringing into the table so I'm not saying it's not gonna there's not still going to be a clashes here and there but at least we can understand the gifts that we're bringing to the table we can understand the value here of each person's perspective and where that where they are rooted and where they're coming from right and so the truth is though also on a deeper level you need both the male side of yourself and the female side of yourself in order to really have joy believe it or not because think about it if the male concept is giving forth energy potential the female concept is we receive that energy and actualize it into something real without both you don't really have anything without that initial burst of inspiration so you don't get off the ground without that actualizing into something real you don't have anything concrete and real and so you have a a lot you might have a lot of inspiration but you're not going anywhere they're eventually going to start to feel unfulfilled and so we see that this is the key to Joy uniting male and female within ourselves is the key to success fulfillment and joy right and that's really what we mean by Joy right that Joy is the experience of actualizing the reality of who you are right and that's the thing we all are raised in a culture that kind of puts in the back of our minds that our level of joy is a dependent that's dependent on how much stuff you get or what you have on what you receive will determine your level of joy all right like they put this calculation in the back of our minds that if only I had that blank you fill in the blank then I'd be happy right if only I had that girl then I'd be happy if only I had that guy then I'd be happy if only I had that car if only I had that job if only I had that six figure income if only had those looks only had that figure if only had that life then I'd be happy what happens imagine one day you get one of those things imagine you get something real imagine you win the lottery so yeah you're gonna have a high from that but even the psychologist will tell you that maximum maximum that high will last no longer than six weeks then you come down from that high and you're the same depressed loser you were before just with more money and so when that comes out what we come out with here is that our level of joy is going to have nothing to do with what we get that yes you do need to get a certain amount of food water companionship in order to get by but that's Survival that's not thriving real thriving real Joy is going to have nothing to do with what we get only to do with what we give forth and by giving forth I don't mean to give a dollar to the guy in the street that's very nice not what we're talking about here what I'm talking about is real giving of self to extend you clarify who you really are what you're really here for what your life is all about what's your grander mission statement and the grander reality in the world and your place in it and you followed it up with a passion and you're living with that in a real way making real moves concrete actions to make that happen so it might not be easy you might not be comfortable but if everything else is healthy depressed you're not going to be because you're going ahead and living out the inner reality of who you are into actualization and so again this is what we mean by Joy enjoy is the experience of actualizing the reality of who you are it's the unification of the male side of yourself with the female side of yourself in a healthy balance refined elevated way and then ultimately you'll be able to bring into fruition the reality of who you really are thank you foreign
