When I started really, really seeking
Hashem, really looking for God, and I'm
really, really was seeking him. One of
the first things I did was I just
[music] started fasting. I started
praying because this is what I was
reading in inside the Hebrew Bible. All
the prophets and and King David, Daniel,
people who [music] were fasting as
Nehemiah. I saw that this was an
effective way, it seemed like, of
getting closer [music] to God. One thing
you can't ignore is how much people are
actually crying out to God. But it was
everywhere and every place. So, by the
time I came into the teachings of Rabbi
Nachman of Breslov, about his teachings,
and how important it is for a person to
seclude themselves every [music] day for
1 hour. You have to set aside time for
you and God. Even if you don't know
exactly what to say, you don't know
exactly [music] what to do. To set aside
the time is the most important thing.
But if you don't have where to go
[music] to, and you're in a place, in
the city, you're in a doesn't matter.
Designate a room, light candles, talk
with God, bring God into that place with
you, that God will be there with you.
