Sun being covered by the move a little bit we saw before him but not to talk during totality it was too cloudy we did experience the complete darkness in that area of interest we were talking before that in this coming summer they're going to be another total eclipse down in South America right correct and July which is winter for them so it's risky so you like a June from South America they tell me that area is cloudy that time of year so let's think let's first discuss this lunar eclipse coming up on to be shot first let's guess boy what is a lunar eclipse a lunar eclipse is when the earth gets in the way of the sunlight reaching the moon when you go outside go outside - later tonight you'll see it a moon stuff it's not full anymore but you'll see a moon in the sky on usually around the 15th of the month you see this big full moon every day you looking at the moon you're looking at the sunlight shining on the moon that's that's the moon doesn't generate its own light but you'll get a lit up moon when there's a full moon you get a full lit up moon obviously one side of the moon you're looking at what happens every so often is that the earth moves in the way and blocks the sunlight from reaching the moon so basically it's a full moon and then the earth starts to block that light so it's kind of like something by China flashlights some over walked by or you been to you watch a video screen at an event that simple walks by the projector all of a sudden the screen goes blank because he's looking at the shadow of the person I can't see anything so before we get to any holes let's let's talk a little bit about the science some more so we have this website one of your favorites you told me our baby right called time and date yes so this website do time zones sunrises and sunsets for all over the world but what's fascinating is more than that it gives you a lot of site information for example what the eclipse will look like in this location on this in this day it gives you the next bunch eclipses and actually simulates the Eclipse what its gonna look like so this is what it would be let's take a look correct describe what we're seeing everything is it's just a simulation of moon that was lit up and then now it started to be covered by the shadow of the earth and now as we're watching the shadow is now going away because based on the motion of the of the earth as well as the moon and now the light comes back so basically what's gonna happen is on the 9th of January if you're if you're on the East Coast in fact this this eclipse is gonna be visible almost almost the entire North America and South America really from Anchorage to Buenos Aires wait to hear the cannon here starts again so you we can see our shadow together starting to cover and then the Umbra which is the the full shadow begins to cover the moon and now it gets darker darker darker and now you have totality and that will take place at 11:41 p.m. on Sunday night layout 2 was fine Sunday night January the 20th 2019 so we're talking another few weeks and here you can see on this protein you can see where it happens where is that it's basically the red in this picture is basically almost all of North America and all of South America and a little bit of Europe a little bit of mainly North and South America will see it it'll be visible and beginning the totality it'll start earlier in other words you'll start maybe I know exact times but give or take maybe go outside 11 o'clock at night on the 20 20th of January and you'll see the moon start to start to get covered at the total sunlight you see if you go outside of the seventh in a month then you're looking at it from an angle the Sun is always shining we can't block it can't block it only around that time okay
