It is sad to see Gafni going home. I have known him for at least 30 years. That is the box of politics. It is very cruel. Most people in politics end up either with indictments or they are kicked out as cruelly as they were taken up—so it shall be done. And the dances and the reports, and most people lack the human material capable of these leaps. But I can say something to Gafni without cynicism. Gafni is always smart. He started his life studying Torah. He is approaching the ninth decade of his life. He will discover, like many people, that after you wipe off the spit and recover from the insult, a life full of content awaits you. He has enough beautiful things to be proud of. He shouldn't be focused on the insult. He shouldn't listen to all the stupid advisors telling him, "Let's put up a fight." Forget about fights. Go study Torah and be proud of yourself and what you have done.
