Hoshana Rabbah is the day the verdict is sealed. A day when the Holy One, blessed be He, gives the notes to the angels and sends them to carry out the decrees for everything decided for us on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and with God's help, only good news has been decreed for us. So why is this day so important? Hoshana Rabbah is 51 days from the beginning of the month of Elul . During this time we merit a final dry land; whoever missed all the stations on the journey from the beginning of Elul, this is the day when the Holy One , blessed be He, can take the notes and exchange them only for good things. Therefore, this day is a day of attentiveness, of concentration, of prayers. It is a day of closeness with the Holy One, blessed be He. We must be careful. The days of Sukkot, and especially Hoshana Rabbah, are not days for frivolity and foolishness. These are days in which we return in repentance out of love and closeness, and with God's help, the Holy One, blessed be He, will send only good notes for us and for all of Israel.
