*Man Gets 14 Months in Prison for Spraying Ilhan Omar With Vinegar at Minneapolis Town Hall*
Anthony Kazmierczak, 56, was sentenced Thursday to 14 months in federal prison for spraying Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar with vinegar during a Minneapolis town hall in January. He also received three years of supervised release, including a ban on contacting Omar.
During the Jan. 27 attack, Kazmierczak approached Omar from the front row and sprayed her with apple cider vinegar from a syringe before security subdued him. Omar was not injured and continued the town hall after his arrest.
Kazmierczak pleaded guilty in May to assaulting a U.S. officer. During his plea hearing, he admitted planning the attack and said he disagreed with Omar’s political views.
