Nicholas Brandram, 44, the man suspected of being the “Putney Pusher”, has been found dead at his home in Chiswick, west London. He was arrested in June over the 2017 incident, in which a woman was pushed into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge, but was never charged and had been released under investigation. Police say his death is unexpected but not believed to be suspicious.

A new balaclava restriction has come into force in Nottingham, giving police and council officers powers to ask people to remove face coverings when they believe they are being used to conceal identities for crime or anti-social behaviour.
