Thought I’ve had for a while:
Shuls should only give the kibud of Psicha to regular mispallilim that are members of the shul, that know how to open the Aron.
Don’t ever give Psicha to a guest. They Nebuch have to stand up there struggling to figure it out, in front of everyone, starting to yank it open and it won’t budge, mamish embarrassed. Every Shul has a different type of Aron Kodesh doors and lock. And than the gabbai usually ends up going and doing it himself. Why have to go through that everytime? Why give it to someone that’s never opened this one before, and that’s unfamiliar with it? Just give it to someone who knows how to open it in the first place!

If I can just add myself,
I also always thought this. The amount he actually does. And the Torah and middos he teaches these kids. So precious. Makes kids literally LOVE Yiddishkeit!! Makes it exciting, fun, from such a young age!! These kids learn brachos on food, mitzvos in the Torah, basic yedios kloliyos, the parsha, the holiness of Shabbos, of yomtov, of a yid, and how to look at, and how to treat another yid! And the list goes on and on!! Uncle Moishy is easily by far the best mechanech out there. And deserves way more credit than he receives.
