Thought I’ve had for a while:
Shuls should only give the kibud of Psicha to regular mispallilim that are members of the shul, that know how to open the Aron.
Don’t ever give Psicha to a guest. They Nebuch have to stand up there struggling to figure it out, in front of everyone, starting to yank it open and it won’t budge, mamish embarrassed. Every Shul has a different type of Aron Kodesh doors and lock. And than the gabbai usually ends up going and doing it himself. Why have to go through that everytime? Why give it to someone that’s never opened this one before, and that’s unfamiliar with it? Just give it to someone who knows how to open it in the first place!
End rant!
