The Summer that Lasts a Lifetime

The Rebbe almost seemed baffled by the American institution of "summer vacation." After all, if education, especially a Jewish one, is so vital and important, why would you neglect it for some two months of the year? To that end, the Rebbe oversaw the opening of a network of summer camps. Dedicated to imbuing the children with a sense of joy in their Torah and Judaism, Camp Gan Israel would afford an even greater opportunity for a 24/7 Jewish experience.
