The Lubavitcher Rebbes Impact on Sefiras Haomer and Lag Baomer

While it’s difficult to point to just one focus the Lubavitcher Rebbe emphasized during Sefiras HaOmer and Lag BaOmer, a central theme was Ahavas Yisroel. He encouraged reaching every Jew, regardless of background, to connect through mitzvos, but even more deeply, to foster genuine love and unity among the Jewish people. In particular, the Rebbe placed a strong emphasis on children. He worked to make Lag BaOmer exciting and meaningful for them, most notably through large scale parades and programming that brought Jewish pride and Ahavas Yisroel to life in a tangible, joyful way.
