The Kazinczy Synagogue
Thank You Hashem / Media 590 views
This shul in the middle of the old Jewish quarter of Budapest has been standing since 1913. Think about that. World wars. The Holocaust. Communism. The near destruction of Hungarian Jewry. And somehow, this place is still here. Still active. While so many shuls across Europe became museums or disappeared completely, Kazinczy never stopped being a shul. The architecture is beautiful. The stained glass, the gold, the symmetry, the Hungarian design. But that’s not the real story. The real story is that Yidden walked into this shul generation after generation and refused to let go of Torah and Yiddishkeit no matter what was happening outside these walls. That’s the miracle. Thank You Hashem.
