This week's parashah is one of the few named after an individual. In this case the most famous convert to Judaism. Now, who is Yitro? Yitro is mentioned in the Torah with 7 different names. He was the father in law of Moshe Rabbeinu, who married his daughter Tzipporah in Midian. Before converting to Judaism Yitro had indulged in every manner of idol worship. He was equivalent to the pope of Midian. After outright rejecting idolatry, he became a target of hostility and so did his family.
