Thief Breaks In Through Window, Shmira Tracks Him Down & Recovers Scooter and NYPD arrests suspect

A frantic call came in to the Boro Park Shmira emergency line: an expensive electric scooter was stolen after a perpetrator broke into a building through a window. Within minutes, Shmira’s surveillance team jumped into action. Using our Shmira CCTV database and a tracker hidden on the scooter, volunteers carefully tracked the suspect’s movements. Working closely with the NYPD 66th Precinct, a quiet stakeout was set up. Moments later, Shmira members spotted the perpetrator riding the stolen scooter this time with a friend. NYPD officers moved in, made the arrest for burglary and grand larceny, and the stolen scooter was safely recovered.
