Route 17 in Tuxedo Closed Following Tractor-Trailer Rollover

Emergency crews responded this morning to an accident on Route 17 in Tuxedo, between Monsey and Monroe, involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle, causing a full closure of the roadway. The tractor-trailer collided with a vehicle before overturning. The impact left the vehicle badly damaged, and the truck rolled over, spilling its contents across the roadway. The Tuxedo Fire Department, Tuxedo Police, New York State Police, and Tuxedo EMS, are on the scene managing the response. The spill and damage have made the area unsafe for travel, and a section of Route 17 between Kiryas Yoel to Monsey in Tuxedo Park is expected to remain closed for an extended period while crews work to clear the debris and secure the scene. Cleanup efforts are ongoing and are expected to take time. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes as emergency responders continue their work.
