Rabbi Yaron Reuven is discussing the controversy surrounding wigs (sheitels) worn by religious Jewish women. He emphasizes that multiple Gedolim, including Rav Moshe Sternbach, Rav Chaim Kanievsky, and Rav Elyashiv, have issued rulings forbidding the wearing of wigs. He states that this is not just due to concerns about Avodah Zara (idolatry) but also due to modesty issues. Rabbi Reuven points out that the source of the hair in many wigs is India, and it is impossible to guarantee that the hair is not from non-Jewish sources. He further states that even synthetic wigs are now forbidden because they often contain real hair. He urges women to discard their wigs and emphasizes that relying on lenient rabbis is dangerous. He uses the analogy of homogenized milk, which was once deemed unhealthy but later proven safe, to illustrate how clinging to outdated opinions can be harmful. He argues that the Gedolim's rulings are clear and should not be ignored.
