Pittsburgh Massacre, MaShiach, and Jewish Lending Business - Q&A w/ Rabbi Yaron Reuven
Rabbi Yaron Reuven is hosting a new series called “Question and Answer” where he will answer questions about the Torah. He discusses the importance of asking questions that will change your life. He begins the series by addressing the Pittsburgh Massacre and the role of Jewish observance in the tragedy. He argues that the synagogue was not a part of the Jewish community, being part of the Conservative movement, which he calls a “movement from the Torah.” He also addresses the issue of gay marriage and how it contradicts Jewish law. Rabbi Reuven then delves into the concept of “tikkun,” or spiritual correction, and how HaShem helps people to do teshuvah (repentance). He stresses that a person's spiritual path is unique and that everyone has a different “loser feeling” to work on. He then discusses the concept of gilgul, or reincarnation, and how it relates to the idea of a neshama, or soul. He explains that a person’s soul can be reincarnated multiple times, and that the process is often a punishment rather than a reward. He encourages his audience to reflect on their own spiritual journeys and to identify the areas where they need to do teshuvah.
