On Yom Hazikaron, for two minutes, everything in Israel stops. Cars pull over to the side of the road. Bikes screech to a halt. Classrooms, shopping malls, and playgrounds all fall silent. For those two minutes, as the siren blares, Israel remembers the 24,056 soldiers and security personnel who sacrificed their lives in defense of the Jewish homeland. Maybe you can’t be there to hear the siren. But this Yom Hazikaron, on May 4, 2022, you can dedicate two minutes of your own.
