Written by Naomi Shemer at the height of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, "Lu Yehi" began as a Hebrew adaptation of The Beatles' "Let It Be" and grew into its own prayer — a quiet, unwavering plea for peace, safety, and better days. As we journey toward our June 2nd Gala, this medley joins Shemer's Hebrew prayer with Lennon and McCartney's English meditation, two anthems separated by language and a generation, united in the same gentle conviction: that hope endures, and that whispered words of wisdom still carry us through.
