Last Thursday, large-scale protests erupted across Israel as members of the ultra-Orthodox community demonstrated against the draft of yeshiva students into the IDF. Thousands of protesters blocked major roads and voiced strong opposition to what they see as forced conscription. Police forces were deployed in large numbers to disperse the gatherings and restore order to traffic. The demonstrations included clashes between police and protesters, several arrests, and the use of crowd-control measures.
