Shlomo Carlebach - What's the Difference Between Avraham and Noach?
Reb Shlomo Carlebach ztl What's the Difference Between Avraham and Noach? #Avraham #Noach #shlomocarlebach So what really is the Difference Between Avraham and Noach? Noah is a tzaddik. You know, there's a lot of tzaddikim. Do they turn you on to Yiddishkeit? No. If you somewhat met Avraham, Gevalt, When you see him, you want to be a Yid (Jew) You know, Noah was talking to his generation for 120 years, Not one person followed him. Because if one person would’ve followed him, he would’ve gotten into the holy Ark. Abraham, hundreds of thousands of people, The answer is very simple. You cannot talk to someone about Yiddishkeit Unless you LOVE THEM with all your heart. Abraham doesn't fall upon a person and say, Hey, brother. I can see in your face you are a sinner. I have good news for you. Even if you knew how to swim, it won't help.Because the flood is coming, brother I can just see it. You're gonna drown. Okay, if you don't want to drown, See me after my office hours. They would say. Dm You Noah I hope you’re drowning How did Abraham operate? First he said to you, are you hungry? Your heart broken? You need anything? Ahh... Avrum is such a good friend to you!. I want to share with you something awesome. Everybody knows Avraham Avini brought oneness into the world. The generation of the flood, every person was on their own. The most lonely generation. Everybody stole. They took away each other's wife. Each other's daughters. each other's money. Everybody was for Themself. Then Noah thought, The only way for me... To remain holy, If I have nothing to do with them. The Torah says, Ish tzaddik tomem "נֹ֗חַ אִ֥ישׁ צַדִּ֛יק תָּמִ֥ים" He was holy. But you know what? בְּדֹֽרֹתָ֑יו He did the same thing like his generation did. They kept their evil to themselves. Then you keep your Yiddishkeit for yourself. It doesn’t go. I want to bless the holy rabbi here, and all of you. I want to bless you. When you see another Jew, when you see another person, don't tell them to be good or bad. I'm sure they know that by themselves. God should bless us to have an open heart, to love every person in the deepest, deepest depths of their being, And I bless the rabbi. and all the people of this shul. You Should be a beacon of light. And I bless everyone here that comes to shul. It shouldn't be like when you're going to shul. It should feel like you're going to your own home. Because the saddest thing is, thousands of Jews, who don't go to shul because they don't feel at home there. I bless you, this should be home for all the millions of Jews in the world, And eventually soon, the whole world.!
