The Town of Ramapo welcomed four new police officers today as they were officially sworn in during a morning ceremony at Town Hall. Town Clerk Jeffrey M. Posner administered the oath, marking the start of their service to the Ramapo Police Department. The new officers are Rahosne Simpson, Emma Sullivan, Brian Nugent, and Daniel Rivera. Each of these new officers will now continue with the department’s required training and onboarding before beginning their official duties. In a meaningful note shared with Rockland Daily, officials highlighted that two of the new officers have siblings already serving in the department. Rahosne Simpson is the younger brother of Sergeant Ronald Simpson, a veteran member of the Ramapo Police Department. The department noted that having multiple siblings committed to public service is both uncommon and a proud moment for the families involved. Today’s ceremony marks an important addition to the growing department. Town officials noted that these new officers will help support Ramapo’s expanding population and the increasing demands on local law enforcement. Ramapo Police Chief Hyman told Rockland Daily: “These four officers join the Town of Ramapo with experience from both Orange County and New York City. We are confident they will serve our community with integrity and professionalism. I also want to thank the Town Supervisor, the Chief of Staff, and the entire Town Board for their continued support of our police department and their commitment to the safety of our residents.” Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht said in a statement for Rockland Daily: “We are excited and proud to welcome our four newest police officers to the Town of Ramapo, where they will join the best police department in the United States. Each of them brings experience and skills that will enhance the safety of our residents. Congratulations to each of them!”
