Decision-Making During Critical Moments on October 7th | Masters of Emergency Podcast
In the early hours of October 7th, Rachel Zubeta, United Hatzalah’s emergency preparedness manager, navigated tough decisions as the situation unfolded. While her instinct was to prioritize safety, the calls from volunteers flooded in: “Do I go in or stay back?” Initially, she urged them to hold off, but when Dovi asked, “What would you do?” Rachel felt the urgency to act. Her response was clear: “I want to go in and help as much as I can.” In moments of crisis, the drive to save lives is unwavering. This episode is dedicated to Dolev Yehoud HYD, a United Hatzalah volunteer and hero who gave his life saving others in Kibbutz Nir Oz. May his memory be a blessing.
