For years, Air New Zealand has offered an “Economy Skycouch,” which creates a flat couchlike experience across 3 seats in coach: And now fellow Star Alliance carrier United has announced that it will also bring its own version of Skycouch to the friendly skies! It will be the first North American carrier to offer the product and it holds North American exclusivity on the design. The United Relax Row will launch next year and it will be offered on all 787s and most 777s. It will be available on more than 200 aircraft by 2030. The seats will be located behind the Premium Economy cabin, and there will be up to 12 Relax Rows available per plane. Customers traveling in United Relax Row will receive additional amenities for their flight, including a custom-fitted mattress pad, a specially sized plush blanket, two additional pillows, as well as a plush toy and a Children’s Travel Kit for families. On Air New Zealand, children under 12 must be accompanied by someone at least 15 when using Skycouch in the same row, or in a row next to the Skycouch or behind the Skycouch. This product is a real game-changer in the skies and shows that United is serious about challenging Delta to become the most premium carrier in North America.
