Majdal Shams: One Year Later, Ready To Save Lives
On July 27, 2024, a Hezbollah missile struck a soccer field in Majdal Shams, killing twelve Israeli Druze children as they played. It was a moment of unimaginable loss and heartbreak for the entire community. In the weeks that followed, fifteen local residents made a vow: they would never again feel helpless in the face of tragedy. They trained with United Hatzalah to become certified EMTs, so they’d be ready to save lives when every second counts. Three weeks ago, they officially graduated. Today, on the one-year anniversary of the attack, we remember the lives lost and honor the lifesaving commitment born in their memory. United Hatzalah stands with the Druze community. ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆ United Hatzalah is Israel's largest volunteer emergency medical service that provides free, volunteer-based emergency response throughout Israel.
