Parshat Vayeira: Imagine! A celebrated world leader pays you a personal visit. Would you leave him or her idling while you run an errand for a needy neighbor? Abraham did. God appeared to Abraham. But when he saw dusty trekkers, he put God on hold and tended to their needs. He served an elaborate meal while God lingered. Abraham knew that a good deed is greater than a divine experience. Because by putting a Godly encounter on hold to help a fellow, one gets a better hold on God.
