Conversion To Orthodox Judaism Questions & Answers Series (2)
Rabbi Yaron Reuven explains the importance of making a genuine conversion to Orthodox Judaism and the difference between observant and non-observant Jews. He emphasizes that conversions done through Reform or Conservative movements are not considered valid in the eyes of HaShem or Orthodox Jews. He also shares that a convert’s holiness is so significant that it makes their entire house kosher. Rabbi Reuven discusses the process of converting as an adult, which includes answering questions from three judges and then immersing in a mikveh. Children who convert must be re-evaluated at their bar/bat mitzvah age to confirm their commitment to Judaism. Finally, he discusses the importance of modesty for women and how a new conversion requires a couple to get remarried, even if they were previously married.
